YSL WOC - Envelope or Cassandra?

Hi all,

I need help deciding on which woc to get.

I want a dark beige YSL woc but I'm tossing up between the Cassandra or the Envelope.

The only YSL I've owned is the Camera Lou, which I sold. This would definitely be more of a fancy/formal events type of bag.

For anyone that owns either, if you could let me know if you like it/ pros and cons!

I have the envelope in black with black hardware and love it! Pros: can be worn with chain or without as a clutch, caviar leather is very carefree and durable, can be worn with formal outfits or just jeans crossbody, it's a classic style. Only con it is quite small, I can just about fit my iPhone XR, a card holder and a lipstick or keys

I'm also looking for an evening bag and just spent the whole weekend searching online and getting deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. But I guess it's much a question of aesthetics, what one likes and aim to use it for? Personal preference, but I don't like the dimensions of the Cassandra so I ruled that one out, for me. Also the ECW has the leather part on the top of the chain and that is, for me, somewhat more casual and I would fit the stuff I need in it. I guess it depends on what you like, how you aim to wear it and what you need to fit inside.


How you looked at the "monogram chain wallet in grain de poudre embossed leather"?

It has the dimensions: 22,5 x 14 x 4 CM and with metal chain only.

I’ve seen both in person at Nordstrom and both are beautiful. However, the SA did tell me the YSL clasp opening on the Cassandra tends to scratch the bag. May be more of a problem with the lamb skin rather than the poundre leather but definitely something to keep in mind. As for the envelope, I love that style and would lean toward that one. But what does your heart tell you?

Ha! I went through the same rabbithole.
Cassandra, for me, seemed too tall/long. I am debating between the envelope (I want slightly smaller than the monogram one) and Chanel WOC.

What did you end up choosing OP?
