YSL Uptown Pouch

Hi ladies I recently purchased the black and Blanc vintage uptown pouch in smooth leather.

The quality of the leather is so amazing for the price.

Just love them both.

I was wondering since they are envelop style clutches has anyone tried to use a chain with the bag? Has that worked well or has it really scratched and damaged the leather? I want to use my gold LV Felicie chain with them, but I am too nervous about trying it without seeing if anyone has done the same with good results.

I have seen a YouTube video of someone reviewing the YSL uptown pouch and she also uses a chain to wear it as a shoulder bag. It may damage the sides from the constant scraping of the metal chain so be careful.

I just received my uptown pouch today. If I decide to keep it I’m going to take it to a cobbler to have tabs sewn on so I can attach a chain. If you just loop it around, I think it’ll damage the edge glazing over time.

If you search “uptown clutch” you will get a 2-3 hits of people sharing photos of the lighter color way.

I am thinking of purchasing the uptown clutch as well...but I like the pebbled leather rather than the smooth variant. I would be overly concerned on it getting the slightest scratch. I wish the mock croc version had gold hardware.
