YSL Sac Du Jour or LV Capucine?

Hi Friends,

I'm trying to find the perfect black bag for everyday use (work, weekends, etc.) that is classic and won't be dated. The two bags that have caught my eye are the Louis Vuitton Capucine PM and the Saint Laurent Sac Du Jour (Small). Price aside, which bag would you recommend?

I love the capucines but not as much as the Fendi peekaboo. I’m not keen on the capucines flap. I have the mini size but you’d probably need regular size for work.

However I love the SDJ too and I have the baby size. The centre is removable and you have the full width of the opening if you need to put documents inside, in the small size of course.

So which one did you pick? I like the Capucines but I can't get over the fact that for a 5k bag, they are using too much sealant all over the bag. It causes sealant to crack/melt in the long run. I really want a black bag so I don't have to baby it too much. The SDS wouldn't close so both have its own pros and cons.

Capucines for me. I've been also eyeing on these 2 bags and end up not getting either (yet) because the SDJ can't be closed and the Capucines in Magnolia gets color transfer easily and I want to use it everyday.

Investment-wise the Capucines will hold up their value much better I think, if that counts in your selection criteria.

I ended up buying a Birkin 30! I tried the Capucine on in store and I just didn't like how it looked on me. I like the SDJ, but I thought it might date. The opportunity came up to buy a Birkin 30, so I decided to go for it. I use the Birkin on weekends and my Prada Saffiano for work during the week, which works out perfectly.

Interesting choice lol.
If I could choose an Hermès over a LV or a YSL bag I would also take the Hermès especially the Birkin, but my ultimate dream bag is Kelly
