Hi friends! My first time posting here so would just like to ask for advice on what to do.

I bought a ysl Lou Lou camera bag at out local ysl store. Unfortunately, the bag she tried to sold me had a dent, she said it was normal and all that.. And I was said okay I'll take it. She had the item packaged in the paper bag and gave the package to me. She went off to print my receipt

whilest she was processing the payment, I changed my mind and asked her if she could give me a better stock. I was really apologetic as I 'thought' the bag was wrapped and packaged in the saint Laurent box and all.. Anyway, she said it's okay and that she will give me a better stock. So she gave me a better stock.. Okay this is better.ill have this instead please. I apologised again!!

She then opened the paper bag infront of me, took out the bag from the dustbag. First of all I was surprised as the item was not even wrapped and wasnt in a box. It was just in a dustbag. Then she just chuck the new bag in the dustbag.

At that point, I wasn't too happy. And unfortunately I had already paid for the item. She asked me if she gave me the receipt already. I said no.

Then she took the paper bag with the bag, put it on a table then... the bag fell off the table.. I watched and my jaw dropped..... I was extra shocked at her reaction. She just took it and then walked away, to get the receipt, put the receipt in the bag. Then gave it to me..

I mean... I didn't really think about it until I left the botique and went home
Now when I look at the bag, I don't really find it nice as the experience associated to procuring the bag was the worst experience!!!!!!

Now I am not too sure about what to do. I want to complain to Ysl but will it really make a difference I don't want the SA to received commission from my purchase. I actually want to return the bag and get my money but I'm not sure if their policy would allow it

It was just really a very bag experience.. I bought form ysl once and the lady who assisted me was soo nice and I was really happy with my experience

Any advised would be appreciated

If you like the bag keep the bag. I too have the Lou camera bag (in the matelassé) and I love it. As long as you have the dust bag and the bag isn’t damaged I’d forget about it and enjoy the bag [emoji4]

You dust the bag off and keep it. Happily use it. This was not the worst experience. You had a less than stellar sales person help you with the bag you really wanted. That doesn’t change the bag. They aren’t going to give you a new bag just because it fell on the floor and there is nothing wrong with it as a result either. If you are anything like me, that was just the first in a long line of floor-meet-bag incidents.

Post pictures and celebrate the bag instead of focusing on the negative. People around here will change that vibe pretty quick with their enthusiasm.

Next time ask for a box.
At LV I got an Alma BB and the SA just put it in a paper bag. I asked for a box and she got me one.
As for bag meets floor accident, unless there is damage I think it is fine  I cannot even remember the number of times my bags and wallets fell on hard floor (I assume the boutique is carpeted).

This is why I don't get why people make such a big deal about "store experience". At most we get more inventory to look at and sometimes a cup of tea or coffee, or just water.

I can kind of understand where you are coming from. If I had a negative store experience, it would affect the way I feel about the bag (when I look at it, I will remember the bad memory >.< ).

For yourself, you need to weigh up your feelings about the store experience and the love you have for the bag. If the love of the bag still draws you into to use it, focus on that and use the bag well: create some new happy memories with the bag that you will associate with it!

I completely understand how this experience affects your enjoyment of the bag. If you can, return it.
I bought a bag at YSL and the SA just proceeded to put it in the store bag. I told him I need the box and all the papers that it came with. I got the whole speech how he just unboxed it, it's the last one etc etc. I waited until he packed it all up. The fact that she dropped your bag with no apology is a big deal and not acceptable.
The experience is important.

Unfortunately YSL isn’t the only one with questionable sales staff. If you check out the other forums, this is a common problem where the boutique experience is sometimes lacking (see Chanel and LV for example). I wouldn’t let this ruin the bag for you. Ignore it, move on and enjoy your purchase.
