I'm actually surprised this is new because well over two decades ago there was a company creating custom shades of foundation. (Unfortunately I don't recall the brand but it was available in department stores).
Remember that as well.. I think it was part of Estee Lauder years ago
I think Kevyn Aucoin and also prescriptives used to do a custom blend. maybe also shiseido, not sure
