Hmmmmm... I think my choice would be the gold hardware.
Because of the style of the purse, I think the Kate is more suited for dressier occasions so the gold hardware gives it a nice finishing touch and elevates the look of it. The silver and black hardware, while they look nice, don't do much for the bag. They're kind of... meh? Just my personal take.

I agree with gold too! I just got the mini lou camera bag in black on black but I also purchased one with ghw to compare. I know they're different bags, but if it helps I eventually decided that I would rather have the more lowkey, less noticeable hardware for the day to day and something eye-catching and shiny like gold for night time.
I completely get what you mean. Gold hardware really takes your look to another level for dressier occasions -- or even for a night out in town. That said, I would be more self-conscious with more eye-catching purses if I'm out on errands, etc.
If you don't want the logo to be very noticeable, the black on black is the best option. As for silver or gold hardware, I usually like black with gold for evening outings, and black with silver hardware for day time use. I have a Kate with gold hardware and I usually use it for dressier occasions or evening outings.
I agree the gold is dressier and really pops. If you want a more casual look then black hardware
I have the silver, it’s easy to take from day to night. I originally wanted the gold but it looked silly with my casual clothes.
While Saint Laurent bags are beautifully made, the Kate doesn’t have a lot of design elements. The YSL and chain are like the jewelry on an otherwise simple bag so I definitely would not get the black. I think gold works better with this bag as it’s dressier. The silver is oxidized so it would look better with a more casual bag.
Mine is the so black Kate. As someone who cares about matching purses’ hardware and jewelry on my outfits, I decided to go with the black hardware so that I can wear it with any kind of jewelry I want. Besides, given that gold hardware is more flashy and good for dressing up while silver is better for casual wears, I thought the black one was more versatile: it could be an elegant bag for a night out or understated enough to go with my casual outfits. So I’d get the best of both worlds. The choice is yours depending on your own personality, preferences, and what you’ve already got in your purse collection. Have fun deciding!
