DISCLAIMER: This little thread is per Grietje's excellent suggestion. So, if you don't like it, blame her :graucho:

Okay, I bought a Givenchy Nightingale that is about to be returned because it's 100% polyester. I couldn't however, ignore the fact that it reminded me of my easy.

I purchased a medium nightingale with the following dimensions: 18'' at widest (15'' across base) x 12½'' tall at center x 6'' deep. The handles have a 3" drop.

The easy, on the other hand, has a 7" drop and the following dimensions: 16½'' at widest x 11'' tall at center x 6'' deep.

As you can see, the dimensions are very close.

And when I unsnap my easy and raise the sides so it looks less like a satchel and more like a...oh, I don't know (someone help), it really mirrors the nightingale.

In terms of weight, I found the easy to be lighter and much easier to use. I can sling it on my shoulder and go. The nightingale, however, is hand-held only, despite the shoulder strap. From reading other reviews, only the maxi nightingale has a long-enough shoulder strap that can be used on the shoulder.

Hope this comparison between both bags proves useful to someone and I must say thanks to Grietje for suggesting I do this. Below are some gratuitous bag porn pics for your viewing.

These are great comparison pics! So helpful to see these. I have the maxi Nightingale and it is much bigger than the Medium Easy. Love them both but I have to admit the Easy gets used more than the Nightingale!

Wow thanks for the pics Aluxe! The shape of the 2 bags are so similar...but to me (even though I have the Nightingale) the Easy seems better because of the feet and pebbly leather...but you also gotta love the slouch of the Nightingale!

Yeah, the leather on my Easy is TDF! And can I tell you, it had a cherry stain that I thought I'd never be able to remove. 4 weeks later, I realized I should try baby wipes and *poof* it disappeared! I would swear by the leather on that bag (though the corners are looking a tad abused).:P

My Nightingale is calfskin and holds up to any kind of weather it seems. And yes, the slouch is great!!!!! Okay, need to stop talking about bags as I am so proud of myself for not buying a bag since June:balloon: Well, I did buy one, but things didn't quite work out so it doesn't count.

Bag rambling stops...now...

Just realized that the pics from this thread were no longer working. I'm going to add some just for future reference. Apologies to those who tried to view pics in the past but couldn't.
