A Youtuber named HeyJesse recently made a video saying that her Cartier Panthere bracelet broke. She said she took her pieces in for cleaning, and they came back with black residue appearing on her skin. Shortly after, she was taking off her Panthere bracelet and it snapped/cracked in two. I find it hard to believe that a routine jewelry cleaning caused this, but this is what she is thinking happened. I’m curious if anyone else has had issues with pieces weakening after cleaning or breaking in two.

I mean never say never and even an excellent product may fail. It's ridiculous to me that you have to talk for 28 minutes. Maybe it's because I'm male  ... I'd like to have short and precise information.

Youtubers tend to over exaggerate quite a bit but why not ask Cartier to fix that (sry if she did so but I just couldn't watch the whole video).

So far I'm happy with all my - dunno - 30 Cartier items; just the Love could be have made better regarding the closing mechanism.

I did not watch the video but agree with scheurin that Youtubers tend to over exaggerate to gain all the clicks and views.. there was something wrong with my full pave love's lock and Cartier was able to fix and eventually replace it for me without any problems. For her case might be better to talk to Cartier directly to get everything addressed.

I thought i was the only one who thought this too! She made this video too long. Showed the picture for less than 5 seconds and went on a rant! This video should have been less than 5-10 minutes but no. She went on and on. I had to skip it so many times to hear the juicy parts! Ugh

Cartier customer service in my opinion is second to none. In her video, there is nothing to suggest Cartier is not going to do right by her. The assessment process is company policy protocol and necessary to determine the appropriate remedy. It does take about one to three months depending if the piece needs to go back to Paris for review, but they do revert back and there sometimes is a repair order number where you can check on the status with customer service. I find it hard to believe that cleaning would cause the bracelet to break into two halves like that. Nonetheless I strongly believe she will be offered a remake or replacement.

I'm waiting to see if this garners as much outrage as the van Cleef bracelet incident
VCA is different in how they handle customer service for their pieces. I have encountered the same issues concerning their gold tarnishing and them not offering to do anything but to clean it, which doesn’t address the problem as it’s a vicious cycle of cleaning polishing and the tarnish returns. So I totally get the negative impression they left on customers.

I’ve had the same experience with Cartier’s stellar service, hence why I continue to shop there. I do understand her frustration but at the same time, I just don’t think a cleaning ruined her bracelet.

Now that a week or so has passed since this video aired, I don’t see any viral reactions, which I’m sure she was hoping for. I agree the video was too long and I found myself annoyed that the actual picture of the crack was so brief.
