Your thoughts on the Mulberry Del Rey large

Hi everyone,
I have been thinking about getting a mulberry Del Rey in large size (pre-owned)as it comes with an interesting price. I'm petite with only 5'1". But I think I would rather make it my holiday bag, packing my clothes for 1 night for example.
I never own mulberry bag, so I don't have an idea at all whether this bag is heavy or not. I'd appreciate if you can give me some thoughts. Thanks a lot in advance.

I don’t own a Del Rey but I own other Mulberry bags and I can tell you bags from this label are super heavy...

And since you are 5’1 I think a large Del Rey would look like a weekender to you. Guess you are getting a pre-loved one?

The heaviness depends on the leather. I have a heather Del Ray in glossy goat and it’s not heavy at all. It’s about the same size as the Bayswater, but it’s not suede lined, so it’s much lighter. Hope this helps.

I’m also 5’1” (and roughly 125 lb/size 4-6) and I thought I’d use my large Del Rey as overnight bag, but it honestly doesn’t look bad for daily use and I’ve gone weeks without changing out since it is a fantastic work bag. It’s heavier that Louis Vuitton canvas and Balenciaga’s goatskin but not particularly heavy for a leather bag of its size. It looks best carried handheld or on the shoulder but I offer carry it as a messenger bag using my Tillie strap because it’s really convenient.

Did you ever get this? I have only ever owned the small Del Reys. I did buy a large one previously, and it looked huge on me (not even 5’1”) and the weight was almost 1Kg with nothing in. I do love the look of the large ones on the preloved sites though.

Does anyone know which size came with a detachable strap? I saw one on ebay with a strap but not seen others with it? I know that there was an update to the bag but thought it was longer double handles?

I have the normal del rey and I am 174 cm and it was fine on my frame. So if you are shorter and take the bigger del rey I am not sure it will be comfortable, plus mine has the crossbody strap as well and not sure it comes with the larger size too.
