I'd love to get someone's thoughts on the handbags by B. Makowsky. I don't know much about them and were curious about to the quality and durability. Anybody like them or dislike them? They have some decent looking ones in this color I love but know nothing about the designer. Thanks!

I think there have been a number of threads on this brand; the consensus seems to be that the bags do not last very long/are poor quality/have poor customer service.

If you use the search function, you'll see this topic has been discussed many times:

I had one a few years bag before I got "into" handbags and it was a piece of junk. The zippers broke after about two months of use. I was really disappointed by the quality granted it wasn't a uber expensive bag but it should not have broke so quickly/easily.

I wouldn't recommend them . I do have one B Mak that I haven't had problems with from his 'classics line', but I returned 2 that I gifted to my Mom because the strap edging started cracking within a couple uses. My first B Mak, a red one, had color transfer issues. I wish they held up really well and I'm the slightest bit tempted when I see them at TJ Maxx on clearance for $59, but I've learned my lesson. That said, there's many QVC shoppers that absolutely love them and evidently have had good luck with them. I won't take a chance on another one unless it's free.

Also like a previous poster mentioned, the customer service is bad for the most part. I've read a couple decent experiences but mostly negative. Expect to rely on the return policy of the store you purchase it from. I think there's too many great brands out there to buy a B. Mak with all the issues. I hope this helps! ;)

I think they are good bags if you can get one for around $75 or less. I would not pay more than that. They go on sale everywhere.....in fact I got one that sold for $200+ at Dillards for $45. The leather is that "scratchy" leather that will show scuffs and water spots. I tried to weather guard mine but when I did the color came right off, glad I did a test spot first. The one I got was a rare color and great price. I don't carry it much though because it rains a lot here. They are definitely not worth anywhere their list price.

Thanks everyone! A friend of mine has a large black Hobo type B bag and loves it. She said its held up amazing well even after 3 years. I found one that I really like on sale for $99 at Nordstom's Rack. It's a satchel type with silver hardware, platinum leather. I've been looking for a metallic color like this for ages as its perfect for summer. I'm tempted to take a chance but worried that it won't last a season.

I have a faux fur one I got at TJ's for 120 , I don't use it a lot, but it's really pretty and has gotten many compliments. You know how some faux fur looks ratty? This is not,.just really lush, and the leather handles have a faint , quiet metallic look, really nice bag

I have a couple. the colors (1 bright green and pink respectively) and feel of the leather are amazing, and they've held up well over the years, although I havent worn them consistently. also, i agree with the post about not paying full price. I bought both purses for well over 50% off at macys. they also sell them for between $100 to $150 at Marshalls, Tj maxx etc.

I bought a few when they first came out and carried them quite a bit. No one knew about them then. Thankfully I had already moved on before they became ubiquitous and the quality went down.
