Your favorite light leather bags?

I’m looking for a new (or preloved!) bag and I would like it to be leather and LIGHT!

The years I spent carrying various Marc Jacobs bags really did a number on my shoulder :yucky: (LOL), so now I’m all about something light that zips closed.

I love canvas LV but I prefer to keep it inside my purse in the form of SLG’s and not have any type of obvious branding/visible monogramming on the exterior of my handbag- I’ll be carrying this to work daily, and it just makes me uncomfortable to carry such a bag in my industry.

What are your favorite light leather handbags? I’m open to styles that are vintage/discontinued as well!

I’m in the same boat as you, I just sold my Gucci Marrakech which weighed 4 lbs empty. It would set off the passenger seat air bag light! . I found a Le Falounne leather hobo by Longchamp, perfect size, zip top closure and, the best part is it only weighs a pound. The leather is great, it has a sheen to it and it’s very well made. Another company to look at is Bottega Veneta. If you like the look of woven leathers, their bags are extremely lightweight and versatile however, very expensive. Enjoy the search and good luck!

+1 on Gucci
i so loved the Marrakech, i even had 2, a hobo and a messenger, but sold both, just couldn't bear the weight :(

My favorite lightweight leather bag is an older model from Botkier in lambskin leather! Even covered in tiny studs, it’s the lightest leather bag of it’s size I own. I even have a nylon Kipling mini backpack the same size that outweighs my Botkier! Old school Botkier lambskin for the win!
