Your diamond on consignment?

Has anyone ever sold a solitaire diamond ring thru consignment?Is it hard to do?And what are the fees like?Any infomation is greatly appreaciated

We had a ruby ring on consignment for about 10 years. We just got it back. It was in a friends antique store, mistake #1.

Not a ring but I did take a watch to the store I purchased from and they did consignment -- I think I received 50%.....when it sold - although if I recall I believe I received a portion of that up front since it wasn't old and they knew it would sell?! Perhaps visit a local store that might take something in?

Generally, when you consign a piece, you get 40-50% of the selling price....
