Wow... I have done so much to my bags.. I pry the rings open if I can and put on different straps, I've dyed them, or parts of them.. It's late now and I can't remember everything but I have messed with a LOT of my bags..
Maybe I wouldn't consider them hacks, I don't know, but I do change things I don't like, or change them to make them more functional for me.

-adding a purse charm to indicate which side is which on a purse where both sides look similar
-sewing a felt purse organizer so I can put a water bottle standing up in my bags
-this is not new, but changing out straps, adding an additional strap (short, long, chain, leather)
-taking off fringe (Rebecca Minkoff)
-hiding tassels by keeping them inside the bag
-tucking handles inside the bag when wearing shoulder or crossbody
-adding holes to straps
-edge painting
-store bags with short handles pointing up (otherwise over time they form U-shaped dents on the sides of your bag...or this is a decorating tip then if you like this look hahaha)

I guess I’m guilty of being a “bag hacker”. I always seem to be changing something on a bag. Sometimes for the best, sometimes not so much.
The best one was a RM Mac that I relieved of the huge front clip. Or maybe the coach iPad Case that I added rings and a shoulder strap to. (I’m happy with that one). There have been dye jobs that went amuck, one of them being a Chanel PTT that went from pink to black. That was definitely a regret!
