Hi Ladies! What BE will you wear at Thanksgiving? And are you cooking or a guest? And if you are cooking...what are your specialties?

I'm switching between my fab Root Enchant Me (LOVE the long tassles) and my deep purple pebbled Hold Me -- just a puddle of perfection and chic.

I'll be cooking. And guesting. Here in Mexico, Thanksgiving doesn't exist, so the day is just normal. I'll attend a school's luncheon on that day, and on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when I have the whole day to cook, I will prepare the meal and we'll sit down in comfort. It will be me and my daughter and a few friends. Quiet and nice.

Well Thanksgiving has long come and gone in the great white north, but I do recall that I was in an RM MAB phase that week!

TG, why haven't I seen photos of your root EM? Did I miss them?

My family will gather for Thanksgiving at a cabin in the woods. Technically I am "guesting" as I am not the main cook this year, and my specialty is...wait for it...green bean casserole! Totally cliche, right? But I love it, and my sisters and my son love it, so I have to make it every year. I am also making a pumpkin loaf in a bundt pan with little leaves and acorns for a low fat dessert option. My DH makes the best turkey in the world, so on Thanksgiving he steals the show!

Oops...almost forgot to post my bag! This year I expect that I will be carrying my new shark Hold Me.

My family will be staying home, no traveling for us this time of year so I'll be the cook along with my 2 lovely teenage dd's! And sons if they choose to assist us! It will be a nice, quiet day which is just what we need as a Pastor's family! I don't know what my specialty is. My dh loves my sweet potato casserole though so perhaps that's it! I won't need to carry a bag but I'll be sure to glance at it (my mottled gold TME, of course!) throughout the day and be thankful to be fortunate enough to own such a lovely bag!

This year the holidays are going to be very special because WE ARE STAYING HOME:yahoo: Usually we travel and it is soo stressful packing up three kids, getting someone to watch the house and care for the dog. So I couldn't be happier to be hosting Thanksgiving this year and letting everyone come to me. I am looking forward to waking up in my own bed and getting up early to put the turkey in. My oldest daughter and I are going to make homemade bread, cookies and pies the day before. So even though I won't be out and about with a BE bag I will be giving thanks for all of the dreamy BE bags that I have been lucky enough to acquire since that fateful Newbie sale last Nov:smile:

My family and I are going to enjoy a Thanksgiving lunch at a local restaurant that overlooks a marina on Pearl Harbor. This year there is no cooking and no cleaning!

As for the bag I'm going to wear, I think it will be my new chocolate crash Hug Me. I should receive it by Thanksgiving.

My husband and I are going to local-ish restaurant for a buffet style Thanksgiving dinner, which is perfect for our mixed diets of vegetarian (me) and meat lover (him)! I haven't quite decided on the bag yet, but I think it's either my new Plum Crash Clutch Me or my new Chocolate Matte Hug Me. Once I make a decision, I'll definitely add it here

I'll be cooking -- most likely my bag will be far, far away from the kitchen -- I am sort of a disaster when I cook ;)

My specialty is the stuffing -- cranberries, apples, sausage, bread, sage, OMG I cannot wait .. my turkey is a pretty big hit but I have to say I don't do anything special to it except brine it. Brining is a miracle process

I make a mean cheesecake too (dark chocolate crust, orange cheese cake with a cranberry topping)..

Great thread!

We're cooking at home with guests coming over -- we do the traditional Turkey dinner - we've tried mixing it up before -- did Cornish Game Hens one year, but we missed the big bird, so traditional it is! Free range bird with stuffing with as much butter as DH can get on/in that bird -- no lo cal turkey at our table;) Green beans w/ a hamhock, mashed potatoes, gravy, fresh cranberries and jellied cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and at least two kinds of pie for dessert -- Pumpkin and Apple usually and sometimes a friend will bring a Sweet Potato Pie! We buy the rolls, pie/whipped cream but make pretty much everything else!

Since our kitchen and family room will be cooking/dining central my BE will be safely in our bedroom out of harm's way -- I'll probably still be using my new Green Crash SM- I've been using it for weeks now! At some point I'm sure I'll have to bring her downstairs and show her off;)

I just love this thread. I always cook the Thanksgiving dinner and because I am not originally from the States although I have lived here for 26 years I do not have any family here. The only family is DH, daughter who comes home from university and my son. I cook a complete organic meal which is amazing the taste of organic is what I am referring to. We also invite any students who are at University with my daughter who are not able to go home - to spend the weekend with us for Thanksgiving. Everyone should have a family to share Thanksgiving with and not be on their own or in a dorm room.
Now when it comes to a BE I am going to have my new Aubergine MMS out as my bag just for eye candy!!!! I will have to make sure it is out of way so that it does not get dirty or marked during the cooking in the kitchen period.
I nearly forgot to mention my family is not crazy about pumpkin pie so I make a pecan - meringue pie and a wonderful French apple pie. BTW my husband is the cook in our house that is why I said I am cooking which sounds weird but seeing as I normally do not cook was the reason for me saying I am cooking for Thanksgiving.
