As the title suggest, please talk me out of it. I’m getting the all too familiar “itch.” You guys know which one I mean. No, not that one (get your minds out of the gutter :giggle:) It’s the Cartier love bracelet itch.

The one where you start thinking.. “oh I could probably add another love bracelet to my stack”... “ohh it might look nice in yellow gold”... “ohhh the pave in yellow gold”.. “oh but I can’t quite afford that one now (or anytime soon)”.. so maybe another plain yellow gold..my stack really needs a yellow gold love right? Right?!:panic::facepalm:

Ugh. My husband already thinks I’m a little crazy for wearing three. He, of course, would NEVER say anything lol. Although, I imagine he wouldn’t even notice a fourth ;)

For awhile, I had always thought I should save up and get a fourth, the full pave classic love in yellow gold to go with my stack. But then, other things (namely, a string of consecutive H bags) got in the way.

I was able to try on a pave love bracelet last time I was on vacation. It was the first time I had done so. It is such a beautiful bracelet! I also Tried on the slim pave. While it is also beautiful, to me, it is too small. I much Prefer the classic. In the photos, the slim looks like it has more presence, but that’s not how I felt in real life.

So... what do you guys think? Yellow gold classic? Save up for pave? Or get the yellow gold classic now figuring one day, I’d add the pave? (Maybe a milestone birthday)

Love Bracelets that I own are all rose gold, and white gold. I also have the JUC in rose gold. I don’t wear that one as much, so don’t really take that one into account.

TIA!

I love the slim pavè.
Also, I’m with @jellyv that there are other very interesting bracelets out there.
If you want a lot more BAH BANG BLING for a lot less, check out the Serpenti from Bulgari. The other stunning alternative for about the same price as the slim pavè is the Boucheron Quatre Radiant, which comes two tone or all white gold, I think).
Needless to say, Hermès has some very nice options as well.
If you’re not afraid to add silver to the mix, consider David Yurman as well (not to say they don’t make beautiful gold jewelry as well; they make both).

Hi there, I am also familiar with the itch, but I strongly believe in saving up for what you REALLY want. So if it's a Pavé in the regular size, I would set the money away for this.
I also find that adding a fourth regular sized love does not add a lot to your existing collection (but that's just me). So if you feel you need to buy sth. RIGHT NOW, I would also suggest looking at other options out there such as Hermes, Tiffany, etc.
But in my heart of hearts I believe it's better to pace myself and then go for what I initially wanted, even if it takes me a few years longer. Most of my buyer's remorse situations happened when I settled for sth. else than what my dream item was out of impatience or the like. HTH!

I agree with you 100%, marzipan!
GoldFish, we can give you a million ideas to deviate you from your original plan and temporarily ‘itch that scratch’, but from personal experience, nothing will stop you from wanting what you really want.
Impatience can be very costly; don’t. I too have settled while waiting for what I really wanted and once I got it, the expensive ‘settlement’ has been sitting on my closet barely used.

Gladly.
If the poll had an Other option, I'd choose it. There's a wide world of fine jewelry out there, beautiful and interesting and more unique especially given your existing collection. Branch out is my vote.
Thank you! I have become so enamored with these Love bracelets, its hard to imagine anything else. I do have an hermes CDC in yellow gold, and a VCA Guilloche in yellow gold. I love my VCA piece but do not stack it with my loves as it just ends up sliding under.

Do you have any other suggestions? To me the love bracelets are perfect. I am a minimalist at heart (hard to believe) but because the Love bracelets have to stay on your wrist I actually wear them. Whereas, all the other pieces I own come off, and never come back on again.

I love the slim pavè.

Girl! I can always count on you to "counter-enable" :giggle: I do love the serpent actually. I had forgotten about that. But is it an everyday piece? I live in the middle of no-where America (you know)...while I don't wear my jewelry for anyone but myself...most people here wouldn't know a Love bracelet if it hit them in the head. But a Serpent is stunning and sparkly and much more flashy... very few would know the brand, but they would definitely see all the diamonds

but the real question is what are your thoughts on durability?

Thank you Hun! I needed to hear this! Do you think the pave love looks nice in a stack of other love bracelets? I LOVED it so much when I tried it on, but it is slightly thicker than the non-pave love bracelets. I am not sure that will or won't bother me in the future..but it was certainly something I noticed.

I know I eventually will have some form of the love bracelet in yellow gold as I feel I need it to balance out my rose gold stack. The question is just pave, or non pave. Or maybe non pave love with a serpenti (like @NOIRetMoi suggested)?

sigh... i know the feeling well. Unfortunately, that was my hermes CDC... while it is gorgeous I don't find that I wear it too often because it is looser than the loves on the inside (due to lack of screws) ... In my mind, I regret not getting a yellow gold love instead of the yellow gold cdc.

Counter-enabler extraordinaire. You’re welcome :graucho:
The Serpenti is a stunning bracelet on it’s on and a great piece to wear with a with a JUC (in your case, I’d probably get a yellow gold one). As an everyday piece? Sure, but depends where you live.
I’ve never had any durability problems with Bulgari.
My personal favorites as everyday pieces are the slim pavè in white gold and the Boucheron Quatre Radiant in white gold because they add a sliver of sparkle and they stand out more because they aren’t the same width as the other bracelets.

You mean they do not stack well? I think mine is an XH? (the smallest size) and my Love is a 16 and they stack just fine. My silver and gold is a bit thicker, but once they’re in your arm they look fine together.

Dear @GoldFish8, I can completely understand why you like the Pavé. I find it pulls everything nicely together, especially considering your JUC is also the YG Pavé version and also that the JUC is less "flat" than the regular loves. . So I don't mind the difference in thickness, I think this is in fact why this stack would work for me.

But I am by no means am I an expert, I am very careful with my choices. I have a YG JUC and a YG Love and that's it (I am basic like that ;)). If money was not an option, I would also like to own the smaller YG Love Pavé one day. The Pavé is so nice and elegant and sparkly!!! But as I am just starting my collection plus sliding down the slippery orange slope alongside with you, I need to pace myself and take a break (just brought home a Kelly Cut on Saturday).

Good luck with whatever you decide. I am sure you will know what works for you when you've looked into all the options taking your time.

I am loving this serpenti! Do they make yellow gold?

My love bracelets are 17 but on the looser side. I got my cdc in standard so that the external widths could match exactly. But then because the cdc doesn’t have screws on the inside I find it spins more easily. My loves don’t spin because of those screws.

I’m a very symmetrical person. If something is uneven or off center it starts to bother me. :wtf: So the CDC spinning differently than my love starts to annoy me fast.

But I think you’re right. It’s better to wait. Cartier isn’t going anywhere.

Thank you hun! I am inclined to agree with you. Cartier is not going anywhere. If I wait a bit it won’t hurt anything. Although, I feel like whenever I try to save money for the pave.. H comes around and tempts me with a piece that won’t be sitting around forever if you know what I mean. So then I jump and forget about saving. Embarrassed to say I would have been able to buy 2 pave loves this year had I not been tempted to the orange side. Can’t say I will be able to stop either. But yes, will be pacing myself this year for sure! My wallet certainly needs to.

Congrats on the Kelly cut!! I bet it is so stunning!
