To brighten up these grey midwestern winters, I'm thinking of buying a yellow bag, (probably MAB or Nikki) but I'm hesitating because I'm not sure what I could wear it with. I wear black, purple, navy, and grey almost exclusively. It's such a cute bag and I really like idea of a bright bag, but I'm nervous. I've also been reading about dying it, so if I got a yellow bag, do you think it would be easy to cover up the yellow with purple dye?

I’m a little biased because yellow is one of my favorite colors, but I think it’s such a fun and versatile color. It’s not really my color me beautiful color, so I like incorporating it into accessories, etc. to give my wardrobe a nice little pop. I think yellow goes really well with all of the colors you listed. Personally, my wardrobe consists of a lot of blues and black with my work wardrobe consisting of a lot of darker neutrals. I think that yellow/mustard really compliments these colors and brightens them up. It’s a great summer color in general, but also a good way to brighten up a darker winter wardrobe.

I absolutely loooove the mustard croc from this fall season, but there are a lot of other great RM yellows.

No personally experience with dyes, but a lot of other ladies here could help you out.

yes, I'm definitely concerned about the possible "looking painted" effect. But as a student (for 3 more years!) and a bag addict, I don't think I can afford to hold out and pay full price.

My suggestion... if you are looking for a pop of color to add to your wardrobe, but want something that will match everything, have you considered other colors, such as red? Still a bright color but may be more versatile. I am also not a fan of dying bags either... I'd think it over and make sure you get something you will love for years to come.;)

I have a sunshine Nikki and it is my first and most favorite RM!! I love the lambskin leather and the color is a breath of well, sunshine LOL. It is cheerful, happy and goes with much more than you think. I love it with my gray winter peacoat and it goes with a lot in the summer as well.

If you are gong for a more neutral, than a purple would be the way to go. Also, no need to pay full price. There are tons of RMs on Bonanzle and Ebay for great prices! Have fun picking out your Nikki!!
