I have my sweet alhambra onyx earrings for about 6 months now and wear them daily except for the shower and swimming. I noticed that the back and clip have turned really dark! As they are 18k yellow gold I was not expecting this. I tried cleaning them but they still look discolored as you can see on the picture.
What should I do? purchased them at a boutique so first owner. Have any of you had this? I have other jewelry from VCA but haven't seen this happening.

I had this happen also with a pair if yg sweet alhambra earrings. It looked like more than tarnish to me so I brought it into VCA and they brought it back to clean them and confirmed they were discolored. Like you, I had them 6 months at the time. It’s apparently your body chemistry turning the gold, but polishing it won’t do much because it will just quickly happen again. I had VCA service it by changing the post to white gold. They charged me for it, but I preferred that than to have discolored gold inside my earlobe. Nobody can see the post anyway, so when it’s on it looks no different. Such an annoying problem to have, on the list of first world problems lol
