I had an order placed for the Preston in camo and pink Ruby I called last night and the guy told me that there were a few in stock and it would ship on Monday today I called to double check that information as I can never trust coach and the woman beside that my order was cancelled because they have no I did date for the arrival of this this bag so they're just going to keep cancelling the order until they have an estimated ship date what the heck I've never heard of this happening before
 
Try going to/calling the boutique store and asking a SA to order it for you. They get a commission so if there is anyway to make the order go through I am sure they will try and work it out. Good luck!
 
I would call again and ask for an explanation. I sort of suspect when they say "cancel" they don't mean they're just not going to send you the item, which is what you seem to be hearing. It doesn't sound like that's what she said. I have a feeling they "cancel" the order so they don't charge you until they're ready to ship. It's kind of an accounting maneuver for them. When they have it in stock and are ready to ship, they'll fulfill the order.

I would call and ask again.

The commission is new to me too. I was told they don't.

I thought that the SAs got a commission in the boutique stores but not at the outlets, but maybe that is incorrect? Sorry if I've got it wrong!

They do not get commission. They DO get credit for the sale, which helps their "performance" stats.

Just be patient. Check again Monday or Tuesday. This same thing happened to me. I had placed an order for a bag that wasn't in stock yet. I actually tried to cancel the order and was told it was already canceled because there were no bags in stock. The next thing I knew I got a shipping confirmation. When I called to complain, the SA told me that the other rep "didn't look in the right spot". Something to do with it being a filled backorder or something. It sounds like your situation is the same. I spoke to the girl who sells Coach at Macy's about this and she said that they don't work on commission, but they have "goals" for each day that they're encouraged to meet. And if they don't meet them, their job could be in jeopardy.

Of course this girl works for Macy's, and not Coach, but I'm thinking the boutiques might have a similar structure. Paid hourly, but keeping the job depends on meeting sales expectations. It makes sense that the outlets would be paid hourly, but they may also be evaluated on some standard tied to sales.
 
I've had Coach cancel pre-order/back-order items if the date is more than 30 days out, but we're close enough to the 4/5 release date that they shouldn't be canceling them. I just pre-ordered on Friday, so there is no status available yet, but I should be able to see my status by tomorrow based on my prior experience with phone order status look-ups on Coach.com.
