Ok-I've been going thru & organizing some of my bookshelves. With all the talk of price increases, I actually flipped thru some of my old catalogs & found a price list for LV for November 2001: If I'd had the $$ then that I do now! LOL!!!

So nearly 7 years ago, here were the US prices for the some of the most popular bags still:

Mono Alma $535
Petit Bucket $550
Petit Noe $440
Petit Ellipse $550
Ellipse Sac a Dos (backpack) $550
Speedy 40 $415
Speedy 35 $400
Speedy 30 $380
Speedy 25 $365
Papillon 30 $520
Papillon 26 $365
Cabas Piano $520
Looping GM $570
Looping MM $520

Those were all Mono bags. I just got a kick out of it b/c at the time, I was in college & did well to afford the petit bucket! :P

Well off to work to make more $$ to buy LV! Have a great day everyone!

whoa! i never realized they were ever at these prices! sigh...i guess with inflation and rising costs of materials...maybe that's how they justified it...

I would wish I was into LV in 2001, but I was a sophomore/junior in highschool then, so I highly doubt I would have been able to afford it then either :nogood:

OMG! We are sounding like old people!!! But now that you bring it up...back in 2001 a loaf of bread was .99 and a gallon of gas was $1.60. That should make us all feel better!
