I purchased an Orange Spice Madeline at the outlet yesterday. Brought her home and cut the tags with the intention of moving in immediately.

I should have opened her up first because she had no dust bag (not a big deal) and the creed patch is sewn in UPSIDE DOWN!

It makes my brain itchy thinking about the creed patch being upside down. Would you return the bag? Would the outlet even accept a return since I removed the tag? I do still have the tag, intact, but it is not attached to the bag.

I am super picky so I know how you feel. I have ordered a few handbags from FOS with no dust bag...disappointing but not a deal breaker if I love the bag.

Is everything else on the handbag perfect? If so - I wouldn't let the creed bother me. No one will know but you and it is on the inside :-)

Long story short - I'd keep it.

How odd! I don't know how I'd feel about it. I wonder if it would be a problem if you ever decided to sell it. If I got a good deal and knew I would get my money's worth out of it, I would keep it, unless I knew the outlet had another one that was perfect.

I would either check to see if they had another that was correct or see if the could give you a discount because of the flaw - they usually agree to at least 10% off, but if you got a really great deal already then i would probably be fine with it. But whateve does bring up a good point if you ever would want to sell it, some might question the authenticity, so you might not be able to sell it as easily or at the price you want. Returns seem to vary, but if you have the receipt and its from yesterday, they usually accept the return even if the tags are removed, especially if you explain the issue, but I would do it sooner rather than later because the longer you wait they might think you used it.

This is something that wouldn't bother me. I actually would see it as a cool little quirk that my bag had. But, I will say, I don't sell my bags so something like this just wouldn't be a deal breaker for that reason. If you do want to sell someday, an upside down creed could be an issue.

I guess I'm the odd one out here. I would call the outlet to see if they have another and if they do, I would return/exchange it. I have to sell my bags to make room for the newbies and I would be worried that the buyer would accuse me of trying to sell counterfit...but that's just me and I'm fussy LOL

I'm with you..I think it's ridiculous about it being sewn in upside down. Makes you wonder what other aspects of quality may be amiss. I'd take it back in and demand a refund, or at least an exchange. Even at an outlet, you're probably spending a chunk of change and deserve a bag that has at least been GLANCED OUT by a quality control person. Who knows what else is "off," and as other people have said, you may never be able to sell it.

Ditto. It would bug me even if I never planned to sell it. Things must be RIGHT!!!!!

At outlet price? Wouldn't bother me a bit. Probably wouldn't even bother me at FP...gives the bag character. It's not like a scratch on the outside of the bag that anyone would ever notice.

Thank you for your input, ladies!

I swung by the outlet on my way home from work hoping to exchange it for another Orange Spice Madeline that I saw yesterday. Someone must have snatched her up in the interim because she was no longer there.

The SA accepted the return with no problem and was very friendly. The manager is going to damage it out. I planned on keeping her long term but that "itchy brain" feeling every time I looked at the creed patch would have grown tiresome. I will now likely just use the funds for a PCE purchase if I can't find a replacement.

I daresay very few of the people who actually construct the bags read a word of English. Thus...

p.s. My pal S. Chen walked by and wondered why.... :D:D:D
