Mine just recently lost 20lbs for health reasons so now his fat platinum band is loose. Loose enough that it can fit on his middle finger. And does anyone know the going rate to have something like this resized? TIA!

congrats on his decision to be a healthier DH.
I can not imagine it would be much to alter the existing band.
congrats to him again! and you too!

Thanks so much. That's what I thought.... it's been decades since I've had a ring resized so I wasn't sure. I just know that it's harder to work w/ platinum vs. gold.

I would personally go to a trusted jeweler - have it remade at a lesser wt and take the extra platinum and sell it. Platinum is really expensive right now - or just melt the entire ring and have a new one remade at the same wt.
imo.

I know almost nothing about platinum, but if it can't be resized, like it was just mentioned, this would be the way to go. Have the jeweler take whatever amount of platinum would cover the cost of making the ring (and mold if necessary) and use the rest for the new ring.

Platinum can def be resized. I had my ering sized twice when getting prg and then after. They sauter (I don't know if this is how you spell it) it, they like cut it and sauter it somehow, you can't even tell it was resized.

platinum can be resized, u just need a jeweler that has the equipment for it. gold doesn't require as much heat as platinum, so it is easier to be resized, but i've had platinum resized before without issues. it should def be in the $20-40 range, nothing too pricey
