Would you keep a Saint Laurent bag without the care card?

My partner bought me a sunset bag with black hardware from YSL Online but it didn't come with the black envelope with the care booklet and a small tag with the bag's ID code of color, collection, style and price.

Would you keep this or return/refund then buy again so I get the complete set? He contacted the Saint Laurent customer service and they said it's not needed for repairs etc.

But what if I want to sell the bag in the future?

Thoughts?

Yes, if i loved the bag, i would keep it. If i didnt love the bag and thought i would rehome it, i personally wouldnt buy it in the first place. I dislike returns, but i think this is a particularly bad idea bc there is no guarantee that you will get the complete set if you return it. it sounds like YSL is phasing out the extraneous stuff. I would simply be grateful that the bag was in great condition

One of my recent purchases didn't come with this either, so I just informed my SA and he mailed them out to me. See if you can contact a local store with proof of purchase, the boutique SA's are a lot more helpful than customer care from my experience. It seems the cards are not specific to the bag itself (like the way Chanel serial numbers tie directly to the bag). They simply have multiples of the same cards as they sent me 2 by accident. So for me, the ID card is less important than proof of purchase itself. I would keep the bag!

I love the bag. Re: rehoming, just thinking of future scenarios, maybe my taste will change or something like that.

Care cards are not authentication cards.
IMO it doesn't matter that much. I always throw them away and never have an issue when reselling.
That is correct, it is not needed for repairs.

Tag with barcode and price is nice for identification purposes, but it would not be an issue when reselling.
Honestly, sometimes it's better when you don't have a price tag on an item when reselling.
I had a Chanel brooch that was $375 when I bought it years ago. When I resold it, I decided not to put the tag in just to see what consignment would sell it as. Lo and behold it was put up for $1000. Needless to say, I was happy about that. :P

Agree with @880 if you already have thoughts on reselling it, I would not keep it, either return or exchange for what you really want.

I love the bag. It's also in very good condition, which makes it hard to decide. Last year, I bought the same bag and it came with scuffs.

The only reason I am thinking of reselling-down-the-road option is practicality. It's a very cool, bad*ss bag - I don't know if my taste/style will change when I get older. But I absolutely love the look now.

Okay, I get it. I've definitely bought bags with the intention of keeping them but selling them later on when they no longer suited by tastes/style as well.

Well, for YSL bag, if you're okay with the depreciation, then just be aware it'll be sold for less than retail, maybe around 30% less to start off with. Currently, Gucci and YSL are popular on the retail and resale market because in general they are significantly more affordable than other brands like Chanel, Dior, Celine, Hermes etc.
However, on the resale market that makes supply quite large which cause bags to drop in value as people compete to sell items off or as prelove buyers become more patient hunters and wait for prices to drop the longer the bags stay on consigment.
