I love the white lambskin mini with pearl handle. But I am afraid to buy it because of color transfer, or that I can’t ever place it down on a non clean surface. What should I do? Take the leap and just buy it? Or wait until I find a caviar one? I just love the pearls and with with gold hardware.

I love chanel's lamb skin! white is a dangerous color but it's so gorgeous, i would just be extra careful with it (i.e. no jeans mainly) and i normally dont place my bag on floors

caviar is more durable and more forgiving but doesn't give the same lux feel the lamb skin does =)

Following this post because I have the same question. I think you'll be ok because it's a small size bag and easier to manage. I have a white caviar WOC and have no regrets with that one. I want to add a white 19 but it being lamb worries me, I can just imagine all the color transfer. For your concern about placing it on a clean surface, I sometimes place it on a napkin if I need to, but mostly keep them on my lap.

I have the pearl crush mini camera bag in white lambskin and while it’s not the most practical or carefree bag, I just love it so much. The white+lamb combo is so pretty and I get compliments all the time. I’m pregnant and so have been wearing it with an oversized black cashmere sweater and black maternity tights a lot over this winter and it’s held up great and no color transfer so far. I do not usually take it off of me when I’m out but it doesn’t bother me since it’s a mini bag and I basically just consider it part of my outfit lol.

I have a white lambskin Pearl crush. I have had slight color transfer on it a few times even when I try to be very careful. Luckily, it has come out. I love white bags; they are gorgeous but yeah high maintenance. I took the chance, but yes it elevates certain outfits.

How do you remove color transfer? Do you just use baby wipes or something else?

I do wipe mine down with a microfiber cloth from time to time but it’s more for preventative thus far. I know the color transfer will happen one day even if I’m careful so would love to know what I need to do then!

Buy the lamb and use it. IMO lamb is sturdier than other members think. Transfer is a result of your clothes not being colorfast. I would simply take care of that first.

ETA: I do not have a white lamb bag, but I do have a white lamb jacket from Chanel that is maybe two decades old. It’s crinkle distressed with gold in the crinkles, but still white. (There is some oxidation, but it’s even and looks good) I now store it in a thin muslin chanel fabric garment bag that allows air circulation. Prior to that I just made sure it was hung in between two white cotton shirts (to avoid transfer in my closet)

I would not use baby wipes or DIY on white lamb, but mine is a minority view, and I have a solid relationship with my dry cleaner (they send out to a leather specialist for consultation )

Honestly I'd be scared. Since it's pearl crush, you meant to wear it crossbody too right? So with that much rubbing against clothing, I wouldn't buy one. I do like the yellow one in the picture.

If it is a white lamb clutch or a handheld, very ladylike bag, then white lamb works. Because you'd be careful when you're out. Just my two cents.

I bought a pale pale pink lamb WOC. I wore it once with a chanel coat (Do you believe that a 12K coat was not color-fast?) that is navy. The whole back was ruined and could not be cleaned. I sold it for a fraction of what I paid. I simply am at a point where I will not buy something that I would be afraid to wear.

Yes, I would. White or pale lambskin is really beautiful. I have two white Chanel calfskin bags and one pale pink lambskin. But, I’m happy to reserve them for outfits that are pale coloured only. They look lovely with light linens in summer and light coloured knitwear in winter. Perhaps consider the colour palate and materials in your wardrobe? I have other bags that I wear with denim and colours.
