Yes, I know that I am reviving a dress discussion that has since ended, but I was not 100% pleased with my initial pair of shoes paired with the dress, so I'm still trying to figure out what to do.

Do these go together nicely?

My other option are black pantyhose/tights with black patent leather pumps w/ a chunky heel. I'm searching for a picture to post...

If you're tall and legs are 2/3 + dress 1/3 of your total height, then I like the idea of black hose/tights with black shoes. If you're shorter, then this look might cut you in half. With black patent, I'd rather go for a slender heel since the dress has volume and I think the shoe should be a bit more slender in keeping with a nice proportion/balance. I also recommend some bling in the shoe in keeping w/ the jewel tone, but only if you keep the necklace, bracelet cuff and/or earrings simple. Just my opinion!

The event was actually last night and it was an evening event to celebrate our finishing the end of classroom phase of medical school! Now...to clinics! I actually ended up going with another dress because the dress above made me look like at least 4 sizes bigger than was I am (not my opinion, but from one of my best friends, so I'm not just being overly sensitive). I wore another purple dress...with the silver shoes, and received numerous compliments on them. The shoes had enough of a mirror appearance that picked up the surroundings so it wasn't super-silver, but a really nice tone.
