Hi
I’m turning 40 this month, so I thought I would treat myself with a bag. I been wanting the toy loulou for a couples of month now and did a lot of research. So today I bought one in NK here in Stockholm. I guess you could say that NK is kind of like Bloomingdales or Selfridges or something like that. It was the first time I saw it in real life today and I absolutely felt in love with it. When I got home and unboxed it, I was a little underwhelmed. I did get a ysl box and dust bag so that’s fine, but I didn’t get any care booklet or tags, but that don’t bother me that much. What bother me most is that I really think I got a display model. There was no protective paper on the bag or tissue paper inside. And the date code shows that the bag is from April 2022.
The bags looks fine though. My question is, would it bother you enough to return it and buy it from ysl online instead? I have good experience with ysl online. Advice please

I also prefer fresh pieces rather than floor models that have been handled before. I have always requested a new piece and if they don't have it in stock, they can always order one in for you or you can get them online yourself. YSL bags are not hard to come by luckily so it's easy to get a new one.

For me, the only purchase that included tissue in the bag has been Gucci. However, I do ask for fresh pieces specifically in Saint Laurent because their displays tend to be jacked up.

If the bag has no imperfections, then no issue. If dresses or scratches are seen, return it

It sounds like you bought in store and “felt in love with it.” Is it the lack of packaging that you find underwhelming or did they switch out the one you loved in store with a display model hence your disappointment?

Hi. I’m not even sure if it has been a display model. They didn’t have any loulou toy on display when I was there. She took it from the stockroom, I just find it so weird that it’s one year old. I’m normally not a person who complains or expects everything to be perfect. I myself don’t understand why it bothers me. I think maybe it’s both the lack of tag and booklet and the old date code at the same time. If it was one of the things I would be more fine with it. Maybe my expectations were too high…

Happy Almost Birthday! :) If you aren’t 100% happy with it and didn’t get a ridiculous deal - then I’d say exchange or return. If I’m paying retail - I expect perfection. I bought most of my luxury pieces gently pre-loved but the few YSL items I bought full priced - I want it perfect with the yummy leather smell and all lol!

I just went in and exchange the bag. I know it might be silly for some, even I think it’s a little silly. But now I’m 100% content. The new one came with tag, booklet and everything thing. The sales assistant was really nice about it. She said the one she sold me yesterday was brand new, she just took the paper out because that’s how they sell their bag, they think it looks nicer. It makes sense to me, I just didn’t knew. I didn’t asked about why I didn’t get the booklet yesterday, I think she just forgot to put it there. The bag I got today got the same date code as the one from yesterday.
Thank you guys for all your in put :-)
