I LOVE my Yachtmaster and am tickled to see it making some noise here lately :D I have had mine since 2002 and wear it almost everyday. I am not really a jubilee band girl and love the bezel as is. But, I was wondering if a 10 diamond custom face would work on this watch. What do y'all think?

I have seen some that have jewel stones on the face in place of the markers...mostly ruby colored stones, I believe. If you look at some of the used dealer pages you might see something. I will check Google images and see if I can find one for you. I know they do a diamond marker dial for the Daytona, but that is a much more popular watch style for Rolex. Do you have the platinum dial?

Mine is all ss with the platinum bezel. Here is a dumb question--how do I know which model I have? I am looking on the inside of the clasp and I see "78730" and also "DE1"

Thank you! Here is the larger pic for you...

:back2topic: Do you know the size of your watch? (Midsize = 35mm, Small = 29mm, large = 40mm) If you have the midsize, the model number on a SS/Platinum is 168622.

Even better in a big picture! LOVE it all. Elegant and lovely. Actually, I don't know a whole lot about my watch. My DH bought it for me when I graduated law school. I could measure it. After seeing Rockerchick's (awesome) pictures, I am thinking it is the small, though.

I think the problem is going to be that if you change the dial, you would not be able to get diamonds on the original platinum dial (your dial and your bezel are both platinum), so you could probably do it, but it might invalidate your warranty and you could have issues later if you wanted to trade it or sell it. The main thing is to make sure Rolex will still work on it if you make the changes, since you will want to have it serviced from time to time.

That is so funny--I graduated in 2002. Do you practice? I am a one day a week lawyer since I had kids.

I wouldn't want to do anything to invalidate my warranty, etc. I will take it to my jeweler to see what they think!

I do practice, yes. One day a week sounds lovely! Let us know what your jeweler says. Make sure it is a Rolex authorized dealer.

Leem, I wouldn't mess with it. the only way to add diamonds is to add an aftermarket face and that would invalidate the warrantee and you couldn't send the watch to rolex for regular maintenance unless you changed the diamond face back to the original face first.
Also, I had a Rolex with custom face and bezel and although it was beautiful, I always regretted tampering with the original. I think you watch would actually lose value if you did so.
I am also glad to see the yachtmaster getting some play. It is a gorgeous timepiece.
