Hi
I don’t have an urgent need to sell it but unsure I wish to keep it also.
The idea would be to upgrade to a bigger size (.17 I think, I would like to keep the thick bezel ; or possibly Cartier) but it’s a long term projet.
I’m in Europe and struggling with eBay (I got no buyers - I think I had an ok price, it’s in good condition etc, maybe my mistake was an auction though as it is time limited ?) and local jewelers offered 300€ which is quite a drop! (I have had it for quite some time, but still was quite more expensive than that, and definitely is now).
I guess I’m unsure what I’m doing wrong re reselling and wondering if I should wait until further price increases, or if I’m getting the reasoning all wrong.
I would rather keep it if I only get 300 though tbh
Ty

300 doesn’t seem a lot of money at all and I’m guessing it wouldn’t make a big dent in the cost of what you’d want to upgrade it for.

Do you know how much the model you are looking for is retail or secondhand?
Is there anything else you could sell to make that amount or could you do it as a savings goal like say cutting 40 euros out of your budget each fortnight until you have enough for a second necklace.

Besides I’d be hesitant about getting rid of something if you actually want to buy something else very similar you know. Maybe you wouldn’t actually wear the bigger gem either? I’d make a conscious effort to try and wear the 0.7 you have while you are saving to see if a bigger necklace in the same style really works for you.

Yes true for the last paragraph (I’ve had it for years though so I have worn it). One of the reasons for also considering the Cartier Diamants Legers, which I’ve always been a little fascinated by, but then again I worry at this quite higher price point I need to be more sure. To be honest though I’ve seen both in person and I’m pretty sure about the dbty size (less sure about Cartier prices!), what I’m wondering about is longevity, as in would i change my mind again size wise later, and at some point I’m unsure I’ll be able to keep up with these crazy price increases.

Regarding affordability, yes I agree about the dent in the budget being minimal, and as for the new one I’m not in a hurry (which is helpful 😊) it’s more of a in the next two years project (and if it happens sooner, awesome!), especially as I’m unsure. And yes, I’m doing the saving exactly the way you mentioned, except I do have an initial lump sum, but jewelry I need to feel really comfortable I can afford it, thank you.

Keep it. There is no guarantee that you will get anything close to what you paid nor anything close to what the new price increases are.
Thank you, I’m leaning towards that also, especially as I have a (very) little one, so I wonder if keeping it for her, in a very long time obviously, would be a better investment, as it’s quite a timeless style

Thank you very much for your replies, I wasnt sure I’d get any to be honest as the forum is so much quieter than the period when I first bought it ☺️

And yes I think I will just keep it for my baby, hoping life brings her health to be able to wear it one day (she’s fine thankfully, it’s me who almost died in hospital last year due to unrelated (« bad luck » really, the kind where you end up in that unfortunate 1% with life threatening complications, with no particular identifiable « reason ») complications of pneumonia - it has made me have to admit very paranoid about health insurance etc, hence the longer term plans for anything else, as even in Europe it is extremely expensive these days). Before I was all set to buy to be really honest, I guess some experiences do change a lot of things (I wouldn’t ever have bought if it was vs everyday needs, I’m actually conscious I’m being maybe overly cautious as we do have savings - just can’t do it - yet, hopefully☺️)
