Women’s FW ‘23 Show

Anyway, just wondering what people’s thoughts are on the women’s fall/winter 2023 show. Got into a discussion with a CA, and now I want to know what other people are thinking.

I wasn’t impressed by any of the bags/accessories. The lineup, for me, either had close similarities to things the brand has done in the past, or they look too similar to other brands’ designs.

The RTW surprised me, though. Practically every designer is conservative for the FW 23 season, so I shouldn’t be too surprised, but going from SS 23 to FW, it’s a big difference. Still playing with oversized proportions, but the color palette and materials are so much more subdued.

Personally, I don’t feel excited or inspired to make an LV purchase later in the year… so I guess “yay” for my wallet being safe? Lol

Thank you for the thread. I feel that the fact that noone made one here on the day the show went down tells a lot. It clearly was underwhelming. I might criticise the Men's shows a lot, since they lack any class and mostly feature childrenswear, but at least they are interesting. This was the opposite. The glowing glasses were the lowest point. They didn't really fit anywhere, just came out of the blue and they implied that someone was whispering into Nicolas' ears that he should put something crazy in the show, because the Men's lines get more attention.
The painted Alma would have been nice, but was ruined by the lettering that was clearly taken from an older show. Even then it wasn't a hot sell.
I am a bit negative today, I know but what I really liked was the Vendôme Trunk. I wasn't keen on the Asnières one, looked cheaply made from up close, but this one looks way better, and this idea of bringing an iconic Vuitton buildings to life for each show is great.
I hope they'll make one for the Les Fontaines Parfumées as a fragrance trunk, would be amazing.

So I actually liked the rtw for fw, especially when compared to ss. There’s a much better sense between play and balance. From an artistic/creative standpoint, go all the way and have fun… but LV’s purpose is to sell goods, and I don’t think too many people want to look like they’re wearing pool floaties and/or belong in the company of big-shoed clowns.

The lighted glasses confused me, and I thought the soundscape was weird. If the whole idea was to focus on “Parisian fashion” on the “actual” streets of Paris, then I think silence would have been better. I found the soundscape distracting. Let the audience think about how it relates to Paris, instead of shoving it down their throats/ears.

While it would be cool to see more iconic LV buildings turned into trunks, I am worried that LV is turning into a low-creativity production factory. I haven’t found them radically interesting in years, and there’s been a shift of pushing out the same items season to season, but in different materials/colors. I don’t like that production/sales model. It feels more like a money grab than a statement or idea on design and creativity.

Obviously, it works for the brand now, but eventually people are going to get bored.

My CA said preorder will be opened soon, so I have shortlisted a few bags but still couldn’t decide the actual bag/bags that I want .
1) Camera bag , price in Europe is reasonable, but it’s 30% extra at my region
2) Dauphine Capitale
3) Square bag, no proper pic yet but the colour is blue and vert like the Coussin


4) Bolster bag, this is Nanogram
5) vanity case , too expensive, like it but won’t buy it

Thanks. I am so glad you posted this! I don’t think there was much discussion as there was not that much info released to talk about. Now we do thanks to you! I like the camera box that you posted up top. It looks very functional yet cute.

I wasn’t really feeling any of the bags from the show. Not a big reverse mono fan… so as much as I like the designs, I won’t be getting anything with reverse mono.

Vanity case caught my eye, but I knew right away the price would be much more than I’m willing to pay for something like it.

And as for the leather bags… I was disappointed. They were all snooze-fests for me.

Which bag/bags are you considering?

I actually really like the camera bag, and the bolster bag is interesting but would depend on the price.
I did expect more after watching the show but seeing these photos has caught my interest abit more

My CA sent me prices for almost the whole range including the Maison Vendome that costs almost an actual house at rural area in my country
I will post the price here, but its in MYR, Yii would have to convert and minus 30% if you are in Europ and minus 10% if you are in U.K.

One of my friend said this new Orsay is like Celine bag

My previous CA sent me pic of the Alma Malletage and Go-14 because I bought 2 Alma Malletage during her time
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw they brought back the Alma Malletage and Go-14.
This Alma Malletage PM is still with me, but I returned another red colour Alma Malletage due to glazing issues.

This lookbook definitely highlights the runway bags better than how it was shown during the show. I don’t know if it was the lighting or the camera angles but I missed a lot of the bags the first time around. I may need to rewatch it again. The Dauphine Capitale is growing on me more and more. I am glad I still have a few months to think about it. Thank you again for sharing.

I like the Dauphine Capitale too, but I will preorder the Camera Box and Square bag first, I have to let my CA know latest by next Tuesday .
