I had upper, lower and a sub brow lift at Wink plastic surgery with dr. Kim. I went to Wink because they specialize in eye surgery, so I figured it would be the best for this type of surgery. I believe they are good if you are young and you need a simple eyelid surgery, which is what I believed I needed. I live in the US, so I sent pictures, gave them my information (mind you, they are VERY slow in answering on kakao, unlike other clinics). I was given a quote for a simple upper and lower eyelid surgery, and they insisted on a deposit to secure a date, which I did. After that, I heard nothing from them. A few weeks before my arrival, I texted a few times to confirm, and then they apologized for the lateness in reply, confirmed, gave instructions etc. All good.
On the day of the surgery, the doctor looked and said I would need a sub brow lift as well. I asked for pictures, as it would leave scars under the brows, and he had none. At this point, I should have asked for more time to think, as I didn’t do any research on this type of surgery, but given I travelled all the way to Korea, gave a deposit, etc, I just decided to go for it. The recovery is brutal, even after 4 weeks. I have bad scarring under my eyebrows (and the cuts are not even symmetrical) and under my eyes (again, I can see the cut lines and he didn’t cut it evenly between the two eyes). Upon researching after the fact, I realized that this option was given to me because they only specialize in eyelid surgery, not the entirety of your face. I believe another surgeon would have suggested an endoscopic brow lift with an incision by your hairline that would not give a visible scar and the added bonus of an overall lift, as opposed to all this localized scarring around the eye.
There is nothing much I can do at this point, but I wanted to caution people of a certain age like me. Go to a plastic surgeon that will look at your entire face, not a specialist with a narrow focus.
