Will protector spray damage Dionysus edging?

Hi guys, I’ve recently purchased a Gucci Dionysus canvas+suede flap bag. I bought the Synovia suede spray to protect the beige suede part. I carefully covered the canvas parts so the spray didn’t get on there, but the black edge trimming did
Just wondering if any of your ladies have had any issues with leather/suede protector sprays damaging/peeling their leather edging. I’m paranoid now... HELP!! And thanks in advance!!

It says not for polished or smooth leather on my Scotch guard but I would't have thought it was like the end of the world on a little bit of edging, although I don't know your product, I'm assuming it's because all these 'hairspray' like substances would 'matteify' smooth leather. Keep covered as much as you can.
