Will I Be Able To Afford A Birkin & Kelly?

Hi Ladies,

I spent some time calculating how much I could save up until next summer for a Birkin and Kelly.

I am looking to get a Togo or Clemence Birkin in Black, and in size 30 or 35.
In addition to the Birkin, I would also like to get a Kelly. In size 28, in Gold or Etoupe, in very basic leather, no exotics.

I will have saved up $25,500 by the end of summer of next year.

Unfortunately, I live in an area where the closest Hermes boutique is 5 hours away.

So I cannot go in very frequently, if at all.

So I was thinking of getting one from a good reseller after authenticating from tPF, of course.

I don't care if it's new as long as it's in a good condition. I've seen some new bags costing $18,000 from resellers, and I would just prefer a used bag that's in a decent condition for less.

So my question is, could I afford both a Birkin and Kelly in those specifications for $25,000?
Would it be doable? There are so many price rangers on the reseller websites that I don't know if that's a doable budget.

I would say yes as long as your looking to buy both in 'regular' leathers-no exotics. My first B was purchased from a re-seller for $16,500-brand new. I've seen K's offered for around 8 or 9K that were in perfect condition as well.
