i'd really like to get a covered rh cp but i'm afraid the leather on the buckles and such will peel

Or do a search; I remember someone saying in that thread or another one that they saw a bag w/covered hardware in store that had a scuff on it, and she was able to lift off the thin leather covering with her fingernail? So I think it would be easy to mar, especially if it's just a thin layer of leather.
