Why the price difference in T&Co peretti mini gemstone hearts?

The price goes from as low as $135 for the rock crystal mini to a whopping $450 for the turquoise mini... even the 18k gold minis are only $275.

What makes the turquoise the most expensive of the minis? (Of course, that's the one I was interested in).

I'm guessing because different stones have different costs, some are considered more valuable than others...? Unlike diamonds I think the value of semi precious stones tend to fluctuate alot..

I know! The turquoise one is the one I really want.
I am assuming that it is natural turquoise, not stabilized or dyed and must be really hard to cut and polish. If it is natural, then it is probably very difficult to get quantity of rough turquoise to cut.
I dream of the turquoise, rhodonite (pink) and the black jade together. Sigh.......

We don't see much turquoise in my neck of the woods, and what we do see is probably very poor quality... I'm not used to seeing that kind of price tag associated with turquoise!

I had to do a little research on "natural turquoise, not stabilized or dyed" and that gave me some insight. I guess I gotta save my pennies!
