Hi All

I am interested in buying a pair of Zimmermann skort from Outnet. The skort is from last 1 or 2 seasons and completely sold out on other webs. I’m a bit concern of the condition of the item and how do they get a completely sold out item in all sizes too. It seems there is no ‘live stock’ system on their web as I could check out plenty of the skorts on my size ie. I put 5 skorts size 0 on the cart and they all could be checked out.

Net a Porter had them sold out too months ago so I doubt they got the items from there. What I understood is they now operate the same as Farfetch. They could get items from other small resellers hence the packaging could be even plain ones.

Has anyone wanting to buy items such as mine? How is the condition of the item? The price of the skort is still pretty high and i don’t want to get defected or dirty item with that pricepoint.

TIA

The Outnet doesn't sell used items nor does it operate as a platform like Farfetch*. It is owned by NAP Yoox Group. Generally their stock is unsold NAP or Yoox stock, or overstock from designers with which they have a direct relationship. They also allow returns, so you should be fine :confused1:

*Now that Farfetch is in the process of buying YNAP, who knows what the future holds.

I have purchased several items from the OUTNET. As QuelleFromage has already stated, it is new merchandise.

I have rarely needed to return anything but when I have, I did not have a problem.

Sometimes deeply reduced items are final sale but you said that the skort is still fairly expensive so I doubt this is the case here.

Hi Ladies, Thanks heaps for your prompt inputs :)

@QuelleFromage I checked with Zimmermann also NAP previously and they are all out of stock hence my confusion. Perhaps they are late returns?? and hopefully they have good quality control for returned items

I don't dare buying with Farfetch though I had once in the past with no issue but nowadays i won't take the chance. Previously they still showed the stores name so we could verify the whereabout and credibility of the product origin but I think many went backside and bought directly from the stores since they also happen to have online web and could deliver overseas. If Farfetch had the deal on Outnet in the end, I would question more of the origin of their stocks Lolz

@Mimmy
The skort would still cost me 200-ish USD, it's quite a discount for Zimmermann but still fairly expensive for past seasons item. Well I think with such brand, can't really go under too much but if there's defect even with that price, that'd be not worthed.

They are sold out at Zimm and NAP because the stock is no longer with them, it is now Outnet inventory. Brands and especially NAP generally do not keep old season merchandise. :facepalm:

The OUTNET is an outlet store (like TJ Maxx). What true outlet retailers do is buy end of season stock from brands for a discount, which then allows them to sell this stock with a discount to their customers. Brands do this at the end of the season so that they aren’t left with stock from two years ago and luxury brands especially don’t like having sale items visible.
The item won’t be in used condition at all, but may have been sat in packaging or potentially tried on before. I’ve always had good experiences with quality from the outnet!

I understand not wanting to receive a defective item but this is possible anytime you buy something online.

If this happens you could just return it. If it is a “final sale” item it is clearly stated. I would understand not buying it if it is a final sale item, otherwise I am not sure that I understand your concern.
