Why doesn't LV create some kind of security label?

bags without these are to be confiscated and destroyed? that doesnt sound right to me :confused1: so what about the pre microchip ones? the authentics without them get destroyed too? hopefully they won't be choosing that method!

Maybe it will be in 10 yrs time or 20 yrs. They will find a way... They are smart.

Anyone who is from Australia, did you watch Border security, the tv show. Where they confiscated so many fake LVs in the airport and chucked them in a big blue bin? Prepared to be burned?

I heard not long ago that LV is designing a microchip for all their bags. So the fakes ones won't have the microchips. This chip is detechable in all airports and bags without these chips are to be confiscated and destryed.
impossible in reality, they'd have to reacall Every single pieces of LV ever sold til that point and plant the chip...even LV paid me, i wouldn't want them to drill a hole or stick something in my LV:yucky:

Sure they should be able to find a way, like they did for the notes/bills.
Something impossible to copy....
Or maybe a special barcode, that the LV shops or even the customs would read. On the bags and on the boxes

Wow if LV did the microchip thing that would raise a TON of privacy concerns.

Just think...the microchip would probably linked to your account when you bought it so where ever you went they would be able to track you. Not to mention if someone besides LV found a way to read the microchips. Its like the whole RFID thing and the national ID cards with the chips...very insecure and a little too creepy for my liking.

No matter what LV (or what anyone else for that matter) does, the counterfitters will be one step behind them...there could be people working on the inside figuring out the authentication methods, or someone could buy an LV and rip it apart to reverse engineer the security mechanism (lol, I'm an engineer and I work in IT, can you tell?)

I don't think counterfitting will ever go away...as horrible as it is, its a multi-billion dollar industry and someone will always be there to capitalize on it. For every counterfitter that gets fined and taken down there are 10 waiting to take their place.

Who knows what LVMH is thinking. They are a big company. We never know the future. 10 years ago, who would thought that casette tapes and walkmans will be obsolete. Even floppy disks... But yes, it would be scary if LV came up with the microchip.

I don't think that that will be the case, they will think of something. Maybe they might start something all new. Maybe just for certain line, or something. We'll seee. It will be in our lifetime i hope...

Counterfeiting bags generates more $$ and is tons safer than dealing drugs. So there will probably always be a market for it. And with that kind of money they will have the technology to circumvent a lot of the security protocols that are out there now, or that can be dreamt up for the future.
