I love LV for so many reasons. I only came to the table three years ago when someone gave me a generous gift card to Bloomingdales and I splurged on a monogram Sarah wallet. Since then I have established a modest, but cherished collection, with two bags and several SLGs. My list of why I love it is below. Why do you love it?

  1. The sensory input from the tactile experience with my SLGs is incredible. I cannot put a price tag on how good it feels to use these products.
  2. As I started to do research, I discovered the most caring, supportive community of women (and men too) that are all trying to look and feel their best. I have never seen such a diverse group, in race, nationality, age, socioeconomics, you name it, that uses LV to feel good and express their style.
  3. I love the hunt. Several of my pieces are pre-loved. The quest to find what I want at a price I am willing to pay is so much fun!
  4. I love spotting other LV pieces out in the world as I go through my day,
  5. I have a simple style so layering on an LV bag with my low-key, understated clothing makes me feel like a million bucks.

LV monogram, really fits my vibe, casual, sporty, indestructible, light-weight, don't need to baby, and neutral enough to go with everything. Also, it connects me to my mom, who bought her first LV speedy 25 monogram (of course no bandouliere) at an LV counter at I. Magnin (department store, no standalone boutiques in the U.S.) in the late 1970s. I remember her bringing home the speedy and I though how strange the bag was, with all these LV letters all over it. I was fascinated. She loved it and bought one for her mom and sister as well. She was and still is so fashion-forward. She then bought accessories, wallets, key cles, checkbook covers, scarves all of it, in monogram and epi. She was and is still the coolest, now grandma, as well. So I've been collecting since the early 1990s, when I could afford them, and still find pieces that fit my life to this day.

LV is generally speaking not my favourite brand (I think one-five monogram canvas bags for me is enough!) but bar none - BEST SLGs FOR THE MONEY. IMHO.

There hasn’t been a single SLG I’ve purchased that I’ve been unimpressed with. And I like the silk screened LE ones. It’s a good choice when you don’t want a full-on special collection bag (or cannot justify the price point.)

I love LV because it's fun to play with the bags by accessorizing them w different straps and charms. Also their SLGs' cuteness are on a different level lol

I love LV (canvas only) because it is durable, yet chic, and you don‘t have to baby it. I am not interested in their leather line, but I am a huge fan of the monogram and Damien Ebene prints. I am a creature of habit so if I find something that I like, I will buy in multiples (same goes for clothes, unfortunately). That being said, I have two Neverfuls, two Speedy Bs that I love rotating and love to use. Thankfully, my multiples have stopped at those two bags only.

Similar reason I like LV canvas because it’s durable, it’s light , no need to baby and so easy to clean. I really prefer bag to be light weight because I carry lots of stuff . My shoulder will hurt if the bag itself is heavy. And the texture is unique you know how easy is to find my key pouch from my bag just by searching without looking ?! :giggle:

I was just thinking about LV as compared to Chanel the other day. I have 2 LV handbags and many SLG's (wallets, cosmetic cases). I have found that, when I sold my LV pieces, a total of 2 purses (one I regret), the resale pay out was very good. I made a slight profit of $27 on one... big whoopie-DO.

Here's where LV beats Chanel and why I like LV. When purchasing a wallet, SLG, accessories, their packaging is very expensive looking. You get the nice LV shelf looking box, and the dust cloth is of quality. My purses were nothing special with packaging - about the same with Chanel. When I purchased 3 or 4 Chanel SLG's it was a regular black Chanel label box. Regarding store windows, LV does a great job with staging so you feel like a theme or experience when entering their store.

I still love the canvas pieces and feel their easier to maintain over the years.

I dip my hand in the bag and fish out my (LV canvas) key pouch without looking at all too!! It’s 100% accuracy! The unique tactile experience!! I thought I’m alone in this….. who knew!! Sadly the zipper of my DE key pouch looks tarnished after 5 years. But nothing else failed, just not so new and sparkly. I could still use it to its “death”, so to speak.

I like the durability of canvas. LV also has so many styles to choose, and they are mostly practical to use in real life which is why we carry bags.
Agreed. There’s something for everyone.

It’s considerably lightweight when compared to Chanel. The Chanel chain hurts/ feels weighty just 5 minutes into modeling it in the store. I haven’t even put anything in to see what fits.

I like the resale value of LV when compared to other brands. Of course Chanel has high resale value too. But look at the starting price - you need to invest a lot before you can get back a lot? It’s not like I buy to sell. However, our lives change and may no longer want or like something. It’s good to know that I can get back a bigger portion of the investment.

I have purchased two totes that I don’t see very often. I bought a Wilshire MM in mono for fall/winter and a Saleya in DA for summer/spring. I will post pictures because I have never seen either of them out in the wild.

Interesting that you chose so similar (style) looking bags. Enjoy! But be aware, it is an addiction! It starts very innocently with "just" two bags...next you will be shopping a furniture or remodeling your closet for your babies :)
