Why did they change EPI hardware color???

Just wondering why they changed the epi hardware color to silver after it was gold to so many years? Also, when did they make the change? Thanks! :blink:

The reason for the change that I read here somewhere was that the silver looked more "classy"? And yet I've also read that the Marc Jacobs line is switching to gold hardware. Doesn't make sense to me, esp since MJ is affiliated with both lines. I would much rather see MJ stick with silver and LV stick with gold, but nobody asked me!

I don't know why they changed the hardware to silver. I personally thought it looked much better in gold.
I believe they started to make the change from gold to silver about 1 or maybe 2 years ago.

I like the silver better, but it depends on the color of the epi I suppose. Maybe they should offer it in both colors so we can choose what we prefer

me too. that's why i'm so happy i found my jasmin with the gold hardware on ebay. yay for gold! hehee.. for me, it seems more classy.

When I was in LV the other day looking at Epi bags, they still had some of the stock with gold that hadn't sold yet. Comparing it side by side with the silver, I thought the silver made the bags look cheaper. And I felt it didn't "go" with some of the colors, such as the red. Which is why I immediately made plans to get a red Speedy with gold hardware.

I never thought to ask the SA why the change.

It would be nice to have a choice.

Because they've finally listened to me.

they changed it because the gold was gold plated brass and the gold would come off and people would complain about it... quality issues... they are also changing the suhali line.

anyone knows what the silver metal actually is?

That's what I was thinking, and I think they use Palladium, and Titanium?

I prefer the silvertone hardware so I'm a happy camper. I have a red epi Speedy with the titanium hardware and I think it looks great. I have a mandarine Jasmin with the gold hardware. That is the only color I'm not sure would look better with titanium hardware. I'd have to see it.
