Why are there dozens and dozens of $200 Loro Piana Extra Pocket/Bags on Buyee?

I have trusted Buyee for a while now, but I find this troubling. Does anyone know what is going on?

It's not just the Extra, there are also tons of Bale bags and Wicker crossbody (not quite sure what that's called). What the heck is going on?

Well, yes, I'm never sure if I can be that direct making a statement about authenticity here on tPF.

My question is really about the level of trust many people here have shown for Japan not selling fakes. What happened to their strict laws? I didn't think anyone could be so blatantly fraudulent on Buyee.

I'm not sure where people get the idea that fakes don't come from Japan. They do, in large quantities, same way there are fakes in the US. Japan has pretty strict laws against counterfeiting, but they are not designed to protect buyers abroad. If you look at all the fine print on Buyee, they state that they make no assurances of authenticity. They have nothing to do with the sellers. Buyee is just a go between that buys items from sellers for you and handles getting it to you. But they don't stand behind the products, and they won't intercede on your behalf with the seller if they ship you a fake. You have no recourse for purchases on Buyee, other than perhaps with your credit card company. But that can put you at odds with Buyee and affect their willingness to serve as a proxy purchaser for you.

There are tons of fakes on Buyee. Caveat emptor.

Everything that Deco already eloquently stated. 💯

Buyee, and other services like it, are proxy services and act solely as a "go between". Nothing more. They are not an online reseller (example: Fashionphile, Labellov) nor even like Vestiaire Collective.

I don't know what Buyee is but I noticed many LP pieces lately on TRR and FP, too. I rarely saw the brand before and over the past month there have been floods of pouches. Perhaps a large store/warehouse that carries LP product went out of business and sold off inventory?

If something seems too good to be true, then it is too good to be true (Buyee)

TRR has had complaints re authenticity, and for bags, they are final sale. Caveat Emptor
