Just checked mine was produced in 2010, I avoided tax by having it shipped to CA. In comparison mine also has the corner protectors, I'll post pics in the AM.

i see, mine was produced VIT020111, so i guess its january of 2011. it has the textured leather unlike what i see in other peoples. see link of what i mean by smooth texture leather. notice how mine has wrinkles.
