who is more high end when it comes to leather belts?

They all are more or less the same (average). For a similar price you might want to look at Bottega Veneta, Cartier, Salvatore Ferragamo.
By high-end I'm presuming quality rather than this week's teen blog top 10 list 
I have around 10 Gucci belts, and although I don't have Armani or a Dolce Gabbana I do have Hermes, Mulberry, BV and some handmade Italian examples and only the Hermes and BV can compare. I'm sure Amani and DG make some great ones too.
Congratulations on your belt, if you manage to ever wear out your strap, prefer a different colour or need a new size (just saying) remember you can change the strap so long as you have the buckle and give Gucci back the old strap. You will pay but not the full whack for a whole new belt.
