Whiteflash Skye 5 stone ring

I do not have this ring but I had my original wedding rings through them and while my opinion is far from the popular one about this vendor, I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend ANYONE patronize them. Their diamonds are beautiful. Their workmanship is absolutely garbage. And their customer service after the sale, especially a sale gone wrong, is the worst I have ever experienced. Platinum rings should not have pitting and cracks in them when they arrive after being crafted, and they should not crack further if you put them on. Further, if a product is made poorly, the company should stand behind it and not keep sending either inferior "remakes" or plating over the issue at hand and returning the flawed product. It took a long time, a lot of battling, and a lot of stress to get a refund, and not even a full refund at that.

Never again.

I have purchased twice from Whiteflash and I am nothing but pleased with everything from start to finish
I have not seen the ring you are thinking of getting though but I would not hesitate to purchase from them again myself :smile1:

I know Ame had a rough experience with Whiteflash, which I don't want to minimize. But, by-and-large, customers are happy with pieces from Whiteflash.

Can you visit some jewelry stores so you can see a u-prong in person before your purchase?

Rough is like the biggest understatement ever!

I do agree that you should try this item on wherever possible. You might find that stones of that size or the way that ring "sticks up" off the finger to be uncomfortable.

I  this setting, it is on my long-term wishlist. I think BGD does similar?

I bought lots from WF up to 2/3 years ago (?) think the quality was great but the finished pieces were not as *perfect* as I expected; prongs mainly. C.S. has gone down in the last few years but is still good IMO.

Ame- I don't know your story but I'm sorry you were not happy. It really sucks when your piece (s) are the ones that fall through. Esp. if everybody else seems happy.

What is BGD?

I have also heard great things about BGD but I contacted them once about a bracelet and Leslie said she would get back to me that evening with a quote and never did .... I emailed again the next day but never did hear back :shrugs:

BGD is Brian and his wife Lesley, the former partners of Whiteflash. I do know they use the same goldsmiths but I think Brian may do a little better on the quality control now than before. I don't personally like them because they were part of the whole debacle I had with WF but the photos I have seen lead me to believe they produce better quality casts than before.

Hi to everyone. A customer brought our attention to this post and we feel that clarification is necessary. Brian and I left WF at the end of 2008 and we have had no further association with the company since then. WF has their own in house workshop and quality control and we do not use the same goldsmiths. In our company Brian oversees our talented team of jewelers and of course still oversees the production of our Brian Gavin Signature H & A diamonds.

Hope this helps :smile1:

Just to clarify:
I was given that information from another customer of yours who was given a tour of the facilities. I didn't just make it up.
