White patent leather pumps? A Do or Don't?

Hi,

I need some shopping persuasion/advice.

I want to buy a lovely pair of white leather pumps. However, I'm still not sure if that's a good idea. I have no clue what to pair them with or if it's kinda of tacky.

What do you personally think?

Is it a Do or Don't? What can I pair it with?

My first reaction was NOOOOO! But when I thought about it, it might work depending on the shoes and your style. But I think the fact that you don't know what to wear them with probably means it's a no for you.

I personally dislike white pumps in most cases... So I'd say "no"!
Another neutral colour could be much more flattering.

If you do decide to buy them, consider wearing them with black tights.. Not leggings!

ive seen pics of some really nice ones - CL milk patent clichy is beautiful!!! I think it has to be a really well made patent so that the shoe doesn't look cheap/tacky.

I think very BASIC simple pumps like the styles from Christian Loubouton's Simple pumps between 70mm-100mm would be appropriate. Don't do the platforms in white patents because it would be too borderline stripper/costume for halloween.

I personally dont like anything white patent on feet. I think they either look cheap, or, if you buy a style with a 5 inch heel and platform , louboutinesque, they will look like stripper heels. sry

I would agree to go with a pair of christian louboutins, nothing too high though. White is not my favorite in particular due to the fact that I am pretty clumsy and before the day is over, the pumps would probably need to go through some intensive cleaning already !

In very rare instances it might work, but so rarely that I personally wouldn't take the chance. White patent shoes are usually a disaster waiting to happen to an otherwise nice outfit.

i love white patent pumps!!! however, i won't pay a lot of $$ on getting it coz i seldom wear and it's of high maintenance (sure patent is better than kid)

i got a pair from sergio rossi at almost 60% off years ago.. guess wear it around 3 times a year.. i pair it with red knee length coat and black tights

I have a pair and I like mine! I wouldn't say spend a lot of money on them since you won't wear them as much. I wear mine in the spring/summer with a few sundresses that I have that are really colorful and slightly nicer.

eew for the winter since they'll look so out of place and get ruined... but in summer and fall I think they could look really cute. With cute dresses in summer and jeans in fall!

i love white shoes! they look so crisp! and patent doesn't get dirty that easily, to be honest. it might be a little weird to wear them in the winter but i am in mine all spring/summer/fall

i don't think either pair is cheap or tacky looking... in fact, they are quite attention grabbers! i get lots of compliments on the JND! GL in your decision, OP!
