white gold vs plantinum for e-ring setting and why?

Please share your feelings on white gold and platinum settings. Obviously platinum cost much more but is it better?

I have platinum. I went with it because it's heavier and its color doesn't fade. I think the price of platinum has dropped recently, I don't think it's as expensive as it used to be.

i only have plat jewelry especially if i'm looking for white metal piece. i don't care much for the shiny white look of wg and plat has that not so shiny look that i like. it's also super durable. also, keep in mind that after many years, you will have to dip wg metal again. just a thought to nosh on.

If cost is not a factor, choose platinum. White gold could yellow and then may need to be dipped to bring back the color.

I am violently allergic to gold and to nickel so that was an easy decision. But having the heft, the strength and the lack of color change is a big plus.
