If you're ok not knowing anything about the actual diamond quality, that's fine, and if its EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, and you feel that's a fair price, fine, I don't think it's a great deal, though.

neither do I. it's not a bad price but it's what I would expect the regular retail of these rings to be.

I don't know if this matters to you but even at 550 the jeweller is most likely still making around 400 profit!

To be honest I would not buy this unseen. The price is ok, but I am not sure whether this set will appeal to you when you receive it.

 i'd be careful with invisible set diamonds that are this inexpensive. I've seen them where they do not meet up perfectly, visible gaps between the stones, poor cut etc...

it is a 5 gr of gold, plus diamonds, no matter how low their quality is, the stated quality is pretty average and settings. Do you seriously think it cost less than 100 dollars????:graucho: I would think it is an ebay price just paying for the material itself, not even work included.

Quad sets and clusters are generally not popular on the boards. If this is the set you want, I don't think it is bad. You may want to check if the diamonds are reliably certified, otherwise the seller can more or less call them whatever he wants and the colour and clarity ratings don't mean much. And if you are buying sight unseen, then make absolutely sure that there is a good return policy so that you can have the ring independently evaluated and return i if it doesn't live up to your expectations.

Let me say this plainly. I would rather a plain band over this set.

However, I do think the setting is probably a decent deal if it's up to par. . Keep in mind, if the workmanship is poor(highly likely) you will be taking it in all the time for repair work, paying for diamonds as the channel sets fall out etc.
I highly recommend saving $ for a single well cut diamond & if its small, you could go for a halo or bezel set to enhance the size.

I think it's a good price...way better than the price that's on that tag. For the price on the tag, you could get a wonderfully cut solitaire of around .50 carats but for the $549, it's pretty reasonable. I don't know that I would purchase sight unseen though...pretty risky for a set of this nature unless it's from a retailer but if it has a good return policy, you should be fine.

And if you like it, that's all that matters! :smile1:

You other option could be to visit Sam's club or Costco. They have wide selection of bridal rings. Some are very happy with Costco quality. Plus you will have 90 days in case you want to return an item.

I think that alone would have me running for the hills.

Overall the price is OK and about what you'd expect to pay in the UK for something similar from a basic jewelers but you could probably find it cheaper by hunting around.

Ultimately a personal choice but I would invest more in the engagement ring and get a plain wedding band than getting something where the cost is split almost equally between the two.
