I recently purchased a piece of white gold jewelry. it is called palladium white gold. they said they use that alloy and as such does not need to be rhodium plated. does anyone have experience with various alloys of white gold? thanks in advance

I don't know much about this but I think Rolex may use a quantity of Palladium to maintain a good colour for their white gold without the need for plating which makes it the same colour all the way through . This is only my recollection of a conversation with my SA so I could be wrong .
I would think that Palladium gold would be good quality alloy mix.

Palladium is in the platinum family so when alloyed with gold to create white gold it produces a more naturally white/gray gold. It's how they used to do it before nickel became the more popular option due to it's cheapness. It's good for people who don't tolerate nickel alloyed white gold, usually.
