Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to decide which bag I would like to purchase for my upcoming birthday and cannot decide!
I can only choose one unfortunately, but would love to know all your opinions and why, especially if you've had either of these bags!

I tend to use my bags and don't like to store them away and I don't change them too often. I don't own a celine bag, but I have wanted one for quite some time and I do own a chanel medium boy bag, but it is not an everyday bag for me as it is reserved for more events etc.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Tricolor Celine Mini Luggage ( do you like the tricolor from the photo?)
or a completely different option this chanel flap style tote ( I haven't seen it in person ever FYI, picture borrowed from TPF).

Your first picture has me kind of confused. I feel like I'm seeing two different bags on the same shoulder? If you like chanel and have a boy bag, I think a jumbo would be timeless and classic. I don't see the celine bag being classic in the same way as chanel. HTH.

Chanel. I never liked the tricolor Luggage, and it's starting to lose its status - or has already lost it so I couldn't justify the spend. Chanel will last you a lifetime both style and durability wise.

I have nothing against the Celine at all but I would prefer a Chanel Jumbo.

The third option looks like it has identity confusion :weird:

OK...here's my take. I own a Chanel Reissue 2.55 large flap bag (black/PHW) and a Celine mini luggage pebbled leather in lipstick red. IMHO...I would stick with a solid color Celine. The pebbled leather is quite durable and doesn't show scratches. BUT...it is handheld and I prefer a shoulder strap bag so I never use it. The Jumbo (or in my case the Reissue) is a classic and hands-free, and can be used as an everyday bag. Caviar leather might be a better choice in leather for everyday use. I do have a vintage camera bag and backpack in lambskin that have held up pretty good but I was careful.
I haven't bought a new Chanel in 10 years, so I may not be up to speed, but a classic is a classic............................

The flap bag is what I would go for. Have u contemplated which leather u would want?. I don't have the celine but I think the general consensus is that it's quite a trendy bag. I have also read that it can be quite heavy.

I'd go with the Chanel Jumbo flap for the reasons stated. I love Chanel, it's a classic that won't go out of style, it's versatile. I'm not crazy about the Maxi's. I think if I wanted a bag that big that I would go for a tote.

Full disclosure - I despise the Celine bag. But, regardless of my personal opinion on the style, it is waning in it's appeal and it's pretty heavy.
