Hi ladies and gents!

I will get myself a pair of pink sapphires and can chose:

white gold, 14K (they only work with 14K) / plated with rhodium, no nickel
or
platinum, not plated, "natural"

I expect the platinum to be less shiny, what I actually like.

I read on the forum that platinum is heavier than white gold. I actually prefer light weight settings. So I tend to chose white gold.

TYIA!

Platinum is more expensive and hypoalergenic. You are not going to feel the weight difference if you are buying a pair of studs. If you are fine with the 14K gold, then I would go for that. For me, I would have to choose platinum, because I am sensitive to 14K gold.

did you have allergic reactions when wearing 14K plated with rhodium in your ears? I thought it would not irritate the ears since they get plated with rhodium.

I reset my studs from platinum to gold (don't remember if it is 14 or 18 k) plated with rhodium for both reasons, weight and because I'm allergic to the raw gold.

I used the one above, I'm not sure how it is called anymore I'm confused! It is a 4 prong. I thought it was called basket, but i realize it is called martini??? Totally confused... Anyway the round thingy is very close to the bottom of the diamond and in profile you see a lot of the diamond not the setting, does this make any sense?
