Hi,

After a lot of thinking , I have finally decidied to get a Time piece as my 30th birthday present.

I don’t wear a lot of watches in general. I like to wear them occasionally, on special occasions.

I prefer my hands empty with just my wedding ring on my finger.

I am indian, so we do wear a lot of gold in general for special parties.

so keeping all the above in mind - I have decided to Invest in a Cartier Watch - My first Luxury watch . Dual Tone is my preference.

I have shortened my List to two of the below watches

Tank Francaise - Medium
Panthere - Small

I know that both are classic watches but Panthere has been discontinued in between...
Tank has always been in the market, so the value for the money is always here and I think it’s a great investment Peice between the two.

But in design - I prefer the brick design of Panthere - which is elegant and feminine...

while Tank - Is chunky and manly

please ladies help me decide ?!! I’m so confused

I would buy a watch that I love because the style compliments me. I'm not sure that "investment" would
be the motivation between the 2 watches you mention.
Both are stylish classic & timeless
You seem to answer your own question with I prefer the brick design of the Panthere
Good luck in deciding

Watches are not an “investment” in the sense that they don’t increase in value over time unless you purchase a rare or unusual one, and even then who knows what the market will want in 10-20 years.
If you buy a quartz watch, versus an automatic or mechanical timepiece, you’d be lucky to resell for even half the original cost, no matter the brand or model.
Good luck in your decision-making!

I think this thread should be removed and reposted in the Jewelry forum - Cartier subforum.

I voted Panthere because I like it better. Neither of these is an investment in my opinion. If you want a watch that will increase in price you need to buy a limited edition

Pick whichever you like better. They are both quartz watches so both are terrible for resale. However, if you are planning on keeping them then doesn't really matter. The panthere, although discontinued for a short period, has been around longer and was also reimagined during its absence in a similar modern look as the santos demoiselle.

Panthere. I have owned 3 over the past 20 years & I own the Tank Americane. I tried the Tank Francaise in the boutique & found the Panthere to be more aesthetically soothing to the eye. The bracelet is enchanting & mesmerizing. Eternally timeless & a bit more refined, imo. The Tank Francaise is indeed chunky & more sporty. I find the Panthere has a subtle grace to it.

Panthere all day, everyday. Although.. I do love a Rolex with diamonds. God that never gets old. I can hear the angels sing when I wear mine. I wear it very few places because I'm literally scared to get mugged.

Deciding between small yg panthere with diamonds or without. Anyone here have photos they could share of theirs irl or can comment as to whether the small with diamonds is too dressy for casual wear? Want it to be classic and versatile. Tia!

I’ve tried on the Panthere small in yg w/ diamonds, Panthere medium in ss w/ diamonds and Tank Français in ss w/ diamonds. What I love most is Panthere medium in ss w/ diamonds, perfectly versatile to wear day and night.

For my taste, the small yg is too small and aged. A2C2299A-0A00-4402-8978-D05F492F775B.jpeg The bigger size gets younger look. The Tank français is gorgeous, modern and more sporty than other 2 models, but not quite sophisticated as Panthère.
