Hi everyone! I’ve been bitten by the jewelry bug and after buying my Cartier D’Amour necklace, next I’d like to buy myself a right hand ring.

I’m a single mom and have been divorced 4 years now, and haven’t worn a ring since my divorce. I think I finally healed enough that I’d like to start dating, so I don’t want to wear a ring that could be interpreted as me being coupled.

My dilemma is that I really prefer to wear rings on my ring finger. I’m in the US, so I will wear the ring I buy on my right hand. But so many styles are used (or could be interpreted) as wedding bands—think the Cartier Love, Bvlgari Bzero, Chanel Coco Crush, Chaumet Bee my Love, even the Tiffany knot.

Does anyone have suggestions for what style of ring I could wear on my right ring finger that is suitable for everyday use and my casual lifestyle (so no big statement ring), but that doesn’t look like a promise or wedding ring? Maybe the Cartier JUC ring (but I’m concerned about its comfort)? Any other suggestions? Or do I give up the idea of ring finger for now and just wear whatever I like on my middle finger, even though I don’t find it as flattering on me?

I have 3 trilogy rings on my right hand (sometimes I wear 1 on my L too)

They're very 'stackable' with each other or other bands, and the go with everything contemporary or vintage. Plus, so comfortable, I don't have to take them off, not showering nor sleeping. They don't get caught on clothes nor my hair and I never have to worry about them.

I love jewelry that has some kind of meaning. Why don’t you find something for yourself that would mean good luck, prosperity, love, or etc? Or a ring with your birthstone, and etc, something with a meaning. I have a diamond ring on my big finger, it’s an eye of Horus to look out for me and give me wisdom. I was obsessed with that ring for so long, it was quite expensive and I couldn’t justify its price but finally got it for myself.

If you like this, then try it on. Because it’s your right hand, wear what you want. I sometimes wear a Bulgari serpenti on my ring finger or pinky. Nowadays, many married people (including me) dont wear rings regularly. But when I do, I prefer the ring fingers of either hand. I don’t think it’s as much of an issue as in the past. Have fun shopping :)

Your best bet is just being open minded & wandering into several stores where
you may find the unexpected.
There are some interesting contemporary jewelry designers that just may have a ring
or two that could catch your eye.
If you are in the NYC area, BG, Pomellato, Hermes, Verdura offer a great selection of
rings for your ring finger & others.
If you like estate jewelry, that's another option.

I currently wear a two-finger ring on my right-hand, but am looking at have a custom ring made. It'll be a simplified art deco design.

Otherwise, I'd suggest going into boutiques and looking at what options they have. I feel like there's so many different gorgeous jewelry lines and it helps to see as many as possible to determine what I love. From Bulgari Diva's Dream, Dior Rose des Vents, Graff Wild Flower, Hermes Alchimie, VCA Frivole, etc., it really depends on your personal preferences and how they wear for your lifestyle.

I wear the Love ring on my right hand ring finger, and I love it. I also didn't want to wear a ring on my left ring finger because I'm a recent widow, and I wore my wedding rings for the longest time afterwards, but stopped wearing them all together, and would just feel weird wearing one there now. If you love the Love ring by Cartier, there's nothing wrong with wearing it on your right ring finger, it looks good. I love mine.

Thank you, the Cartier love ring is on my list. And I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I felt the same way and bought the Tiffany schlumberger 16 stone ring. I love it because it’s sparkly but definitely not a wedding band. Also, you can make it your own.
