Which should I get?

I'm going to Vegas in June and I'm thinking rather than go to LV, I want to add a piece of jewelry to my collection. (I always like to take advantage of Vegas shopping as I'm not a very big gambler.) I have approx. $900 to spend. I'm currently debating btw. a Cartier Trinity ring -- plain, all white gold -- I'm not a tri-color gal -- OR -- a Mikimoto black South Seas pearl pendant -- it would be 9x10 mm. I know I would enjoy either one!

I'll be honest, I'm leaning towards the ring (I probably want it a little more), BUT there is not a Mikimoto boutique near me, unlike Cartier. I know I could get the Mikimoto pendant on-line or perhaps at BBB, but I do like shopping at the "real deal", IYKWIM -- plus an authorized retailer might not have what I want. I do think it would be easier, because of this, to ask for the ring for my birthday in the fall from DH.

In addition to this, a part of me would also scratch the above and rather get a couple of Tiffany pieces that have caught my eye.

If you have any other suggestions, too, please share, but I do not want to spend more than $900 before tax. Thanks!

I think you should make a small list of "possibles" and make your final decision when you get there and see it all.
There are two Tiffany boutiques in Vegas now! The new one is in Caeser's Forum just around the corner from Louis Vuitton. Also, Chopard is right there too.

Those both sound gorgeous, but i agree that you should wait to see them both in person and try them on to see if one pops out at you. To me, the ring would be an everyday wear piece, while the necklace, while versitale, I'd be too lazy and forgetful to use everyday :) What jewelry do you currently wear and have?

I do agree with you -- I would likely wear the ring more -- it's really, truly and everyday piece. I do have two diamond solitaire pendants which I LOVE. I do have a thing for a simple, solitaire pendant and have always wanted a black pearl one.

The ring shows up on their website and I e-mailed Cartier and they replied that the ring currently retails for $850. But, thank you for bringing that up -- perhaps it is being phased out. The tri-color one seems to be the more popular choice and I can, in a way, see why. I've just never been a fan of rose gold on me -- I actually like it on other people.

I think that's a good idea, too. I'd be more tempted to buy something from Mikimoto, but might change my mind after I looked at the other things IRL from my "wish list". Have fun shopping!
